I like him as a prospect. Great PnR skills, with good size. Not great athleticism which might affect his finishing, but he does have a float game. I think of all the prospects though, hard to see where he fits in. Do we need another guy who wants the ball in his hands with FVV in the mix, and also Scottie looking for PG duties? Another player to find the shooters that we don’t have? Someone who is also not a great off ball player?

He’s not a perfect prospect, but I can see him fitting in.
The biggest issue is his lack of off-ball shooting. Not a great shooter overall, but even worse C&S. We already have so many guys that play best with the ball in their hands. In minutes he plays with starters you can always move Fred off ball. His size and length allow you to play him alongside Fred without it becoming a problem defensively.
He would be a nice backup PG option for us. Him and Koloko running the PnR off the bench could be a nice young pairing.
Not being a great interior finisher is an issue. Relying to heavily on his midrange game may limit his ability to create plays. This team lacks athletic rim pressure and catch and shoot 3s, those and he addresses neither of those.
I could see him being picked as a good defender that can effectively run our second unit, but it looks like in the absence of developing a much better 3 he’s going to be fairly limited scoring. You don’t need your PG to be a great scorer, but it’s certainly nice to have.
I question how well he fits with Scottie long term. Neither of them great 3 point shooters, both pass first guys. I think we need a PG that can also play off ball as a C&S player. I think Cason Wallace would be perfect for that reason.
