I’d argue at this point that Mclaughlin is way worse. Can’t hit a 3 and can’t get a shot off without getting blocked

Teams scouted him out during the play-ins and he is also pressing. His pace and ball movement isn’t as important now that we have a more traditional PG in Conley.
But this is why we tried so hard to make the playoffs. We need to figure out who can/can’t play in the post-season so we can build our team accordingly. Last year it was DLo (and KAT for stretches). This year it looks like JMac. Fortunately, JMac isn’t making $30M.

At this point, I don’t think you can play him. Or at least not for a couple of games.
We all know JMac can be good, but he’s just so wildly out of rhythm right now. His decision making is fucking awful, which is shocking considering how much he did right last year. I wonder if he almost needs a hard reset.

Man get wendell moore or austin rivers in the rotation for lil mac for the rest of the playoffs. His minutes have killed us the last 3 games

Wow…not sure if I was ready for this one.

I don’t understand what happened to JMac the facilitator.
I can’t stand watching him drive the lane as a first option, then run directly into a 7-foot defender’s tits, only to huck up a shot that gets rejected. Then, of course, commit a dumb foul trying to “fix” his mistake.

This guys is burnt toast — no need for him to take up a roster spot

I double-checked his splits to see if my instincts were correct, and JMac seems like he can’t get into a rhythm unless he has a large, consistent role. Same with Nowell. Both of those guys’ percentages improve drastically when they’re playing bigger minutes.
That’s not an uncommon thing for lower bench players, but the bigger issue with Jordan is he’s not supplementing his shooting with other things. His turnovers are unacceptably high this year. He’s also forcing less turnovers on defense, which the team needs to make his defense tolerable, because when his matchup starts getting closer to the rim on him, it’s all hands on deck for the defense.
