[Ian Begley] Tom Thibodeau was asked what the thinking was in having Julius Randle on the floor down 20 late in 4th when Randle went down hard after a Jarrett Allen foul. Thibodeau said he was going to sub Randle out a few possessions earlier but Randle had asked to stay in to get more rhythm

Thibs you’re the coach, players will always want to play, make the smart decision.

Thibs probably doesn’t realize how stupid he looks with that answer. Makes me think if Randle told Thibs he wants to play all 48 minutes – he’d do it.

One of these days this is gonna back fire on Thibs and a key player is going to get injured in meaningless playing time

If Randle told Thibs to jump off the bridge, would he jump?

Lol I’m dumbfounded. Please take out stars out of the game in a blowout, and that goes both ways.

Sorry, but if a player isn’t hurt, isn’t having a bad game, and it’s not hurting the team I don’t see any issue in the star wanting to continue playing. Randle got hurt at minute 14 into his rookie year – you can’t Nostradamus this shit post game. We should be praising Randle, not knocking Thibs.

Is that why Brunson was also out there?

I mean, can you really blame Thibs for letting Randle stay out there? He missed two weeks and the rust is clearly showing. It’s a risk, sure, but it makes a lot of sense to want to try to get some run in a low-pressure situation where you know the game is already out of reach.
