Can we please for the love of God draft someone who can shoot and isn’t a defensive liability

He’s more of a raps type pick than the guys I’d want at 13 (george or bufkin) but I still wouldn’t mind if we took him come draft day

  3. I would be really surprised if the Raps took a swing on him. He has size but the skill and processing are not there at this point. He’s had a considerably worse NBL season than someone like Ousmane Dieng or RJ Hampton imo. 2 years away from being 2 years away.

I really like his potential, but there’d definitely be questions on whether he can fit on this team.

Amazing defender for his age and will likely be a plus defender right away in the NBA. Has a pretty solid handle for his size. But his offensive game is extremely raw. He’s super young so there’s the opportunity for him to add to his game, and his shot doesn’t look broken at all, but it’ll likely be a few years before he’s a positive player on offence and there’s no guarantee it happens at all.

To me whether or not you want to draft him at 13 comes down to personality. If the FO sees that he’s an intense hard working guy that they can see really putting the work in to be a great offensive player, then his ceiling could be amazing.

He’s likely not a great short term fit for us though as we’re currently constructed. Not going to be a shooter, no real half court offensive game. The same thing was said about Scottie, but Scottie has the size and strength to get inside and score, something Rupert doesn’t have.

If the FO did decide to blow it up and start a rebuild, then I’d have no problem taking him as a high upside guy, but if the goal is to build around this core in the shorter term then we’re probably better going with someone that can play off ball and shoot.
