JJ Redick calls out Sabonis’ dirty plays in the Kings vs Warriors series. Also claims “the referees have dictated too much in the Kings favor in this series”
JJ Redick calls out Sabonis’ dirty plays in the Kings vs Warriors series. Also claims “the referees have dictated too much in the Kings favor in this series”
edit: for all the people replying about the Sabonis push on Looney, here is what Redick said about it: “There’s a play late in game 2, where Kevon Looney is right underneath the rim ready for a rebound, Sabonis pushes him in the back. They don’t call a foul. That’s a foul.”
But you canāt allow him to do whatever he wants, and call ticky tack stuff on the other end
What Sabonis is doing to get these ORebs is insane lmao
staymelooo
Lmao the same people who praise JJ on the daily are now hating on him for speaking the truth, just because of 8 years worth of bottled hate for the warriors
lolhaa2
Holy are you guys fking dumb here? Sabonis push is a foul (they called looney 3 times for that)

JJ speaking facts, Draymond and Sabonis were both acting a fool

Iām starting to realize Iām getting too old for modern day basketball discourse because I am sick to death of hearing about this shit
SubZero_dot785
Kings definitely were trying to provoke Draymond and it worked
Bonbonalizer
Iām not gonna defend draymond at all because he was rightfully suspended. But I also think Sabonis has been getting favorable calls based on reputation . For example, we had to burn our challenge on a play where draymond didnāt even see Sabonis and was called for a foul. Things like that are annoying because they see draymond and Sabonis and just assumed draymond committed the foul.
For the most part I think officiating has been slightly favoring the kings but I expect it to slightly favor us at chase too so š¤·š»āāļø
Home whistle gonna home whistle.

It’s pretty funny watching this sub turn on JJ Redick because he has one opinion that reddit doesn’t agree with lol
vrkhfkb
Sabonis is not dirty. But JJ is right about the draymond sitting clip.
People kept saying Draymond was sitting on sabonis, but sabonis was the one holding him down. He was the one on the bottom trying to prevent draymond from getting back on the play. Otherwise it wouldāve been a trailing layup since Draymond wouldāve been first up and down the court (being on top).

It was pretty crazy that they let them play physical for most the game then warriors come in the second half trying to match the physicality of the game and Kings were in the bonus 90 seconds into the half. You can make a case that everyone was a foul but you gotta call it both ways if kings are going to be able to bully the warriors with not the same whistle. I expect a very favorable whistle for the warriors tonight

Just look at the way they guard Steph. Itās disgusting to watch

Heās not wrong. Draymond is an idiot and should face consequences for what he did. But the plays in this clip are dirty as fuck. Sabonis getting away with too much
halfdecenttakes
Yall are such goobers. ONE dude posts the clip saying Draymond “sat on Sabonis” and you guys have been running with it since when this clip CLEARLY shows that Sabonis was the one holding him.
OKCDraftPick2028
Lol, this sub can’t understand that while what dray did was wrong, it can also be true that sabonis is playing dirty this series.
I’ve seen sabonis literally pulling down someone in the rebound to try to get some fouls.
Steph gets hit so much just as always, and the refs swallows their whistle.
kozy8805
You all do realize that Draymond could be rightfully suspended and Sabonis could be a dirty player too right? You donāt have to pick a side..fun fact

Why are people so black and white on their opinions, JJ legit says he doesnāt condone it but he brings up some fair points. I swear nuance is lost on most of the people in this sub.
ImperialTiger3
The refs need to allow both teams to play physical. Sabonis has been playing super physical down low, which is fine, but when Looney does it he gets called. Either call it for both or donāt call it at all.

This is possibly the most controversial post on this sub. Every single comment is someone with a different opinion lmaoo

JJ is right. People are letting their hate for Draymond blind them from the fact Sabonis has been playing dirty this series too.

He’s just spitting facts and this sub wont hear it because they hate Draymond. Sad

I know for a fact half of the people mad at JJ and venting about it on this post haven’t even seen the video lol.

3 of the plays he mentioned that first take didn’t show replays of:

He didn’t say that play was dirty, just an obvious missed foul call on a big play (1 point game with 3 minutes left, Sabonis finished the game with 5 fouls). The Warriors also got called for the same thing 3 times during the same game.
