I think Brad feels better knowing that when he passes on Carter it's going to be the right decision.
If he really was going to take him, he wouldn't say "we feel better after". He would say "we weren't worried about it anyway". There's no way. I highly doubt it.

You're not counting how important an effective play action pass game is to Goffs game. If you have someone that dangerous back there, Goff will have great wide open chances. That won't count on Bijans stats but will he much more effective because of his presence.

I think you're putting way too much stock in what he said about Carter. What else could he say? It's not like he's going to say it didn't go well. This was almost guaranteed going to be his answer
Problem with that is the Lions second round picks are later in the round meaning Forbes wouldn't be there likely at around 45 or whatever they draft
I totally agree with Adam, I don't think people are placing enough stock and how much this franchise values character, hard work. They preach it at every single press conference and they pretty much acquire every single player who has an excellent hard-working reputation. I feel like people are looking at this like fantasy football owners and don't realize he's our human beings. Guys like Dan Campbell made it long in the NFL because of hard work and commitment. St Brown is talked about how important their locker room culture was. Look at how competitive he is. You don't draft a guy who quits on drills in the biggest day of his life. It goes against their entire philosophy
big difference between taking Robinson 6 and 18 look at the salaries. Six makes him one of the highest paid running backs in the league which defeats the entire purpose of the rookie contract
You guys need to spend a few minutes looking at how much the sixth pick in the draft for a rookie running back stacks up against the rest of the running back contracts It's no advantage
Worrying about if you can sign him 6 years from now is almost a worthless argument. It shouldn't even come into the equation as 6 years from now we have no idea where this franchise would be
Here's the problem with drafting Stroud, what if Detroit goes 13 and 3 and wins playoff game and Goff plays at pro bowl levels. Now what
The only way I take Stroud if jaylin Carter is not there are with if jaylin Carter and Stroud is there with him I'm taking jaelyn Carter we most definitely could get a quarterback in this draft or next year
You guys mention Brad Holmes doubling up I think if you were to it would be defensive line and offensive line in other words he will pick a defensive player probably with the six pick and the offensive lineman with the second pick something like that
Im fine with Bijan on a rookie contract for 4-5 years. We don't have to resign him.
Love the idea of drafting CJ this year if available with the 6th pick. Both Jeff and Adham make some compelling arguments. For clarity, why does CJ have to be a starter in 2024? He gets to compete for the position 2024. Competition brings out the best in players. (Not always pretty but necessary) CJ doesn't have to rush into a starting role. If Goff is truly the man he'll earn an extention, if not 2025 CJ is ready with 2 years to evaluate with the option year.
