  1. It was overdue….Nurse was good for a team ready win. Not so much for a team in transition. Hopefully Masai can do his magic again.

  2. Correction. They did win a playoff series after Leonard’s departure. The year we beat Brooklyn in the first round and then lost in 7 to Boston in the second

  3. Nick never won a playoff series without Kawhi? Strong statement, especially considering he literally swept Brooklyn in the first round the very next year in the Bubble.

  4. "never won a playoff series without Kawhi Leonard"….we swept the Brooklyn Nets the next year in the 1st round

  5. I don’t care if you bring in a hall of fame coach, if you don’t bring in players that can play you will end up a mediocre result.

  6. Never won a playoff series without Kawhi? Granted he only won 1 but the Raps were one shot away from the conference finals in the bubble. I think this was Nick’s only “bad” year. He either overachieved (even with our 2019 team and obviously our 2020 team) or was on par other than this season. Sad to see him go, figured he had at least one more year. But can’t do anything other than say thanks for your service NN.

  7. I think NN lost the locker room, also Pascal being on the overrated players list already tells you what the true color of the team.
    Wishing NN all the best

  8. Mr. Grange: you can be so disingenuous at times. To say “I’ve said there were tensions (between Nurse and management) is another example. You said just last week, and have been saying so for months, that the relationship between Nick Nurse and management is very good. Which was it, really?

  9. Mr. Bunkis: Nick Nurse DID win a playoff series without Kawhi: the year after the Championship, against the Nets, when they finished with the second best record in the league. And they took Boston to 7 games in round 2.

  10. I thought Ime was going to be named the coach in 2018 when Nurse was hired. I think Ime has always been in Masai's head as a coach for the Raps. Pascal is a #3 in a big 3 and Fred is a #4 or #5 on a contending team.

  11. Big ups to Grange for asking the tough yet obvious questions at the presser today. And pushing back on Masai , who lets face it , was kinda bullshiting a lot today.

  12. That would be hella funny and messed up at the same time if Dwane Casey gets fired in Detroit and Nick Nurse replaces him as head coach on the Pistons.I think that would be the first in NBA history for a coach to get replaced by the guy who replaced him on another team.

  13. That's what happens when you run your starters for 42.mins without allowing your bench to develop into competitive relevance and still could not make the playoffs while racking up injuries 😂

  14. JD Bunkis just stating incorrect lies on here, never won a Series without Kawhi really. To even Suggest that Memphis would ever get rid of Jenkins now, he’s one of the best coaches and no the sixers would never get Nurse, Embiid hates him. How do these people get these jobs when they don’t have a clue what they are talking about. Idiot

  15. Masai didn't want Nick to come under fire again for next year because this team isn't changing with his coaching style. He let Nick Leave while still Hot he will get another Job in the NBA no problem. Another losing Raptor year could tarnish his reputation. Now as for the Raptors they need more talent and a new style Coach. Fred isn't the leading guy either is Pascal so they better make some moves now.

  16. If I was a betting man I’d bet the talks were more about NN agreeing to be traded rather than staying. Nick likely said resign me or fire me.

  17. Now the Raptors need to find a way to make a big impact to this franchise now as they have a solid core of really good players just entering their prime😁🇨🇦

  18. Nick Nurse will be good as assistant not as a head coach because he doesn’t have what it takes to develop young players. Developing young players is very important in the NBA. Nick Nurse is not a good fit for Houston Rockets because they have so many young players that need development.
