now that you mention it, a lot of sports fandom has really unhealthy thought patterns: dwelling in the past, circular thinking, refusing to see that the present is its own unique thing, unregulated emotions, simultaneously dehumanizing and lionizing athletes…
now that i write it out, sports fandom sounds pathological. ok, now go punch a horse.
