Dame’s contract is a bit scary, and you only make that trade if you think Mikal can be a #2 and the #3 would be someone by committee (or Dinwiddie actually becomes Jrue level)

From a culture and talent point, which the FO seems to care more about with their stars, he’s a perfect match. Plenty of articles have been written about how he’s a Duncan esque leader

Idk how I’d feel about a Dame trade

No on Trae. He’s one of the worst defenders in the league (not hyperbole), he’s inefficient in the playoffs, has had beef with 2 coaches, and the culture in Atlanta has been not good. The team tops out as a 5 seed with him

I mean sure let’s say they’re both on the block in the offseason, how do we (a) offload massive salary black holes and (b) maintain our core, in order to make a big acquisition? I think we just need to be patient for another year until Ben is expiring and Joe is off the books but I’m no expert

People not wanting Trae is absolutely insane. A young point guard who can catch fire and is one of the best playmakers in the league ? Plenty of shit defenders get hidden behind good teams. We have Bridges and Claxton helping him out. Also this fanbase has been trying to force a rivalry with the Knicks since they’ve moved to Brooklyn. Getting the least popular player amongst Knick fans would actually make that a reality

The ingredients don’t matter if you don’t have the right chef
