Sources: Assistant coach Greg St. Jean will not return to the Mavs’ coaching staff. Jason Kidd brought St. Jean to Dallas from the Lakers and promoted him to first row last season. The Mavs will look to add more experience to Kidd’s staff.

It’s a bad sign the two best assistants from the WCF run coaching staff are gone now.

Good luck to him but this is the right move. If Kidd is gonna remain here then we need a rock solid staff

  3. Idk much about him but if J-Midd doesn’t want him, that probably means St. Jean is a decent coach

not to sure how i feel about this, he always seemed the one to be most active in coaching the players during games and out of the games.

I like GSJ a lot as a coach and he will get scooped up soon somewhere else …but have to think this is mavs forcing a more experienced coach outside of the Jkidd coaching tree onto the staff cuz dallas def lacked a bench presence who checks and balances Kidd when it came to coaching decisions. Makes me think that they weren’t blind to kidd’s faults as a coach this year.

Never a good sign for a coach when they start shuffing around his coaching staff, Kidd might be fired by the all-star break next year if we have another dissapointing start.

Bring Vogel. And then reverse their roles.

What were his responsibilities last season? Because I feel like there’s probably a reason this happened related to the way the team played on one side of the court or the other.

If Kidd stays, we need elite level assistant coaching to compensate for his lack of x/o’s abilities

It’s rly hard to evaluate assistant coaches cuz u never kno who rly does what unless ur in the building day in day out but I do remember he did an interview where he effusively praised Dwight Powell so idk if I’m too bothered about his departure lol

good move, now get a good offensie assistant who can run plays and hope kidd trusts him

IF KIDDS NOT GETTING FIRED THIS IS THE NEXT BEST THING. IVE SEEN PEOPLE AT YMCA RUN A MORE CREATIVE OFFENSE THAN US.

Cubans really gonna waste another year of Luka with Kidd losing at minimum 15 games because of bad coaching

  14. Vogel and a good offensive mind would be ideal. Any chance at DAntoni?
