PJ Tucker has strong message for Sixers during practice before Round 2

“Today (Wednesday), he got angry in practice because it was sloppy and he went off when nobody else did,” said coach Doc Rivers. “Those are the things that people don’t—he just does so many things that are visible only to his team. That’s why you brought him here.”

“I think the biggest thing is he knows the little things matter,” added Georges Niang. “Some may look at it like ‘Oh, we have a week off. We can turn the ball over or toss the ball around.’ And he’s the one to be like ‘No, we’re working on building habits that are gonna pay off in the long run.’”

“I think PJ is really intelligent when it comes to knowing what little things matter,” Niang finished. “While other teams, they kinda look past it and think their talent will get them through that where PJ is more or less like ‘We need to iron out the details and win the little details so when it does come time and we need it, we’ve practiced it over and over again and we know what we’re doing’.”

that last bit is so important and it’s nice to know our guys are fully conscious of the little things that matter; pj has been a godsend and will continue to be

Next assistant coach when he’s ready to hang it up

Only spotlight Niang gets is when he hypes up a teammate in an interview I swear

I poked my head in the Bucks sub yesterday to check the vibes there, and a solid proportion of the comments in there were some variation of “I miss PJ”

God bless PJ’s heart. This team has played an entitled brand of basketball for years, so the fact that he’s drilling it into the rest of the guys not to rest on their laurels is massive.

It concerns me that no one else on this team ever seems to have this mindset year in and year out

Imagine dedmon getting cussed out by PJ for slacking

I think that shadow jab from Niang was in reference to Spida. Funny considering what happened with the Cavs.

Pj is a coach at this point alongside his player skills lol gotta love it! That’s why we signed him.

Why do we hear so often how things are sloppy or players need pep talks to get their head right in the playoffs? It’s great to have leaders but everyone should be locked in rn, if you’re not you’re not a winner, period.
