**Clint Capela**

Clint Capela says that getting to a top-4 seed in the East is key for Hawks to give themselves a chance to advance deep into the postseason.

Clint Capela lauded Quin Snyder’s attention to detail and how that was immediately clear when he arrived.

Called him a “next level coach.”

Capela said that he usually takes three or four weeks to recharge at the start of the offseason. Said that the time difference in Geneva makes it a bit easier to let basketball go because the games are broadcast so late.

“This is the moment we live for as a basketball player in the NBA to really make something happen in the city, and we felt that we did. It was awesome, it was incredible.”

**Jalen Johnson**

Jalen Johnson said he’ll be in Atlanta a lot this summer.

Heading into his first full and healthy offseason after having an injury last summer.

Jalen said he’s only planning on taking about a week off to decompress before getting back to work.

“It’s a big summer.”

Jalen Johnson said he isn’t sure if he’ll go to Vegas for Summer League.

They haven’t talked about it yet.

Jalen Johnson, on the way the season ended:

“We went out swinging.”

Jalen Johnson said that Dejounte Murray took him under his wing and gave him advice throughout the season.

“When I hit my three I was like “damn.” It got loud…So it was kind of like a little kid moment for me like just having that big roar and all those fans.

State Farm was lit yesterday, everybody showed out.”

**Onyeka Okongwu**

Onyeka Okongwu said that Quin Snyder is a top-10 coach in the NBA.

Onyeka Okongwu on his summer plans: “You know, I should still be playing right now. So, I haven’t really had a chance to think of any summer plans yet.”

When he was reminded of saying that he would come back with a jumper this season and asked what he’d work on this offseason, he stopped us:

“First of all, let me ask y’all what y’all think ? Do I have a little jimmy now?”

**De’Andre Hunter**

De’Andre Hunter said he just spoke to Quin Snyder and Landry Fields before coming to speak with us. He said that the meeting was about them coming up with ideas together and there wasn’t one specific thing that they came up with him for him to work on.

He added that he knows Snyder likes 3s, so he’ll be working on that.

“He obviously loves 3s. So, definitely shoot more 3s, but just my overall game. I always feel that I can get better everywhere. So just whatever I can do — working with them and them showing me other things that they see that I can work on. Just trying to do those things.”

Hunter said that going into the offseason, his body feels good.

When De’Andre Hunter was asked about Okongwu developing into a 3-point shooter, he quipped:

“No, I’m not going to say that. I’m not giving O his props like that.

On his relationship w/ Quin Snyder: “He’s always encouraging me he’s a very positive coach for me. He always encourages me to shoot. That’s the biggest thing that I stay aggressive… I’m really happy that he’s our coach for sure.”

**Saddiq Bey**

Saddiq Bey has been staying in a hotel since the Hawks traded for him February. He joked that it was weird seeing players from opposing teams “where he lives.” But now he has some extra time to house hunt.

Saddiq Bey said that he gets fidgety when he’s away from basketball.

“I just have to figure out how to find that other thing to do to keep my mind off it. It isn’t going to be too long. I know myself. I’ll be back in the gym before I know it.”

Bey said Quin Snyder and Landry Fields “to continue to first, to be a leader on & off the floor, to have the work ethic that I have that they see & still get better at each part of my game…”

Hunter not getting anything to improve on lowkey sounds like the FO doesn’t care what he does because he will be moved in the off season.

Mad props to JJ for saying he will be grinding all summer long after taking a 1 week break. The more he refines his game the bigger X factor he becomes

    >He added that he knows Snyder likes 3s, so he’ll be working on that.

I just want to hear this from every single player including Trae (well, Capela gets a pass). If you get passed the ball behind the 3 point line and you’re open, take the damn shot. Under no circumstances do I want to see a dribble for two steps and then a long 2 attempt anymore.

    Dre with the jokes lmao

I had the same thought as the other commenter about this, but on reflection what they need from Dre depends on what other changes we make to the roster. He’s still very versatile so what part of his skillset they need emphasized could change from what it was this past season.

It’s not impossible he gets traded, but I think one of Clint or JC is more likely the odd one out.

The Saddiq part is interesting. I never realized that players stay in hotels for so long after they get traded. Surely he’ll be even better next year when he settles into a home

Yeah yeah I’m tired of seeing the same results season after season. “We’ll get better and do better next season, for sure”. The only hope I have for next season and the thing that excites me the most is Snyder fully implementing his system.
