[Bontemps] Doc Rivers says Joel Embiid didn’t do anything today, and “if he’s a betting man, would say he’s doubtful” for Game 1.

Obviously hate to see this and hope Embiid gets better quick but the Celtics better not fuck around and take this opportunity to go up.

If he’s there or not we still have to take care of business. Won’t be shocked if we play down their level if he’s not there

  3. cimmanonrolls

wish he was playing and at full strength so we didnt have to hear embiid excuses from sixers fans for the sixth straight season

who knows, at the end of the day it might not matter that we let that Hawks series go a game longer than it should’ve

Honestly this only makes me more nervous. Let’s hope the Cs left all of their fuck around and find out in the first round against Atlanta

They could give him two bionic legs and let him play in a gundam, they still getting swept.

Kinda hate that Sixers fans will just say that they would’ve won if Embiid was healthy. Even though we kill them every time we face them in the playoffs

Better take fucking advantage. Don’t give a fuck about this ethical championship bullshit.

Could be gamesmanship. We need to be prepared for Embiid regardless

Wonder how much Paul Reed we get or if they go small w Tucker at the 5.

Doc knows we’re more likely to lose against a team missing their star, genius coaching.

Could also be Embiid wanting to make sure he’s healthy for games 3 and 4 (where I’ll assume they’re going to give him MVP? Idk when else).

Or Doc is a liar. But would a coach lie to the media????

This could be good ole gamesmanship but at the very least he’s gonna limited. No excuses to not be up 2-0 heading to Philly

In a thread yesterday, a poster forecasted that Game 1 would feature Boston blowing a sizable lead in the fourth against an Embiidless Sixers and then for Embiid to come back healthy in game 2 only for Philly to lose 4 close games straight.

Step 1 of the prophecy is taking shape. I want no part of this place if Step 2 happens, and the amount of Sixers schadenfreude if Steps 3-6 manifest will be delicious *especially* if those close games are decided by some clutch plays from the Jays.

    absolutely need to capitalize

It’s basically just harden and maxey

I bet he’s going to get an email today discouraging him from referring to player injuries and gambling lol

Hopefully Embiid is okay for real, but to ensure that he sure take his sweet time to return
