[Bontemps] Doc Rivers says Joel Embiid didn’t do anything today, and “if he’s a betting man, would say he’s doubtful” for Game 1.

Finally got the mvp trophy. Time to start just resting Joel until the postseason starts

We’ll see. Still would be shocked if he misses the game

Hopefully this is just usual play cards close to chest but if not and Embiid is out for more than a game this series is a wrap

I’m old enough to remember when the most upvoted comments about the injury were “this is the best case scenario”

I was joyous seeing ringo draft and I just found this and my joy jus evaporated into thin air

I’m confident he’s playing until it’s 7:00 on Monday and they actually say he’s out. I just don’t believe it

There was so much cope in here the last week pretending a serious knee sprain was a non-issue. I doubt we’re gonna see Embiid until the home games.

I wonder if this sub will continue to shit on anyone take an even semi realistic view on this situation, or if they are going to continue to delude themselves despite what is actual being reported on

Well, thats that then, Celtics in 5. Im not gonna bother watching.

Well it was fun believing we’d have a chance lol. We just cannot drop both games on the road. If that happens it’s over

Hope this serves as a lesson for all of you that always try to downplay the severity of injuries, “best case scenario” my ass. The coping is at an all-time high. It’s the same coping that gave this fanbase the same false hope that Ben Simmons “was still young and needed more time to develop”.

Needs to be on the bench amping up his teammates.

You could have me convinced this is an r/nba thread with all these nephews who are so happy they’re right about an injury

what’s with all the bitching about “cope”? we’re all fans, nothing we say, do, or think will change the outcome of these games or make joel’s recovery progress faster. who the fuck cares if some people want to be more optimistic about it than others? lot of y’all taking a victory lap on the mvp being seriously injured because it means you were right, pretty sick

Would love to get a specific medical update/explanation, but guess we won’t get that until he’s officially ruled out. Keeping him off the floor probably means swelling/fluid is still there. Shit sucks.

He clearly wasn’t 100% against the Nets either. This honestly doesn’t look good and he wouldn’t be 100% even if he comes back in g2 or g3.

Don’t worry, it’s just a knee sprain guys!!!!
