If we can get rid of Doug and Devonte + get some draft compensation.. Im fine with the trade. We‘ll have to pay the big bucks for the young guns the year his huge contract ends.. which makes his salary not that awful.
Unless.. we get Wemby. Benjamin can go somewhere else then.

We're a play-in team without Wemby. If Vassell wasn't out all year, we would have been competing for 9th or 10th.
I would still be okay with Ben Simmons on the cheap.

Don’t forget spurs actively tanked many games in second half of season with “injuries” and best player devils missed a ton as well. Still you prob right. But not a stretch they could push for a play in spot. But not exactly ideal. Would make a lot of sense to tank another year honestly.

A few years ago OKC aquire CP3 when nobody wants him just like Ben now. Then they trade him and get some first round picks. Is the only use I see for him coming to the Spurs. But is a huge gamble and many things can go wrong.
Don't take this wrong way but your 'under the weather' looks better than my best days. Take time for yourself and take care. I feel like the league has already moved on from Ben Simmons. He belongs with the best of the best in the China League.
There was a time I would have loved Ben Simmons on the spurs but now? Hell no.
People really forget 98 Spurs already had David Robinson, a player who was MVP 3 year ago. Spurs tanked that year because everyone was injured not because they were rebuilding. We do not have the players that has Robinsons caliber now.
Honestly, we have a low key sleeper bench that can out score a lot of teams bench. Defense, a corner piece and bench wins games
We were play-in with DJ, i think wemby can get us that if not playoffs.
