Im not too worried about the Knicks yet cause from how i saw it, there were 2 mains reason why they lost 1) No one could hit an outside shot so when Miami sold out and protecting the paint, scoring was a struggle. Topin got no business taking 11 3pt shots. 2) Miami really hurt the Knicks early in the shot clock. Love was killing them with the quick full court passes and there were quite a few times when the Heat pressured them after the Knicks would get a rebound and cause a turnover. If guys like Grimmes, Quickley, and Hart can get outside looks to go down, the Heat will have to respect it more which open the paint back up for Brunson, Barrett, and Robinson.
You miss the intangibles the absence of Randle affects the Knicks – which is more valuable than the stats he brings. It is his physicality. His ruggednes. His toughness. All of which are contagious. With Randle, the confidence of each Knick and the whole Knicks team; and consequently their game soars beyond normal heights. They become fierce compared to their being tame today.
Jimmy not making the all-star game was criminal. Low turnovers, good passer, great assist to turnover ratio, averaged more steals than turnovers, averaged more steals than fouls, solid rebounder, and he only needed 13.9 shots to average nearly 23 a game. There's literally nothing he did poorly.
The way Jimmy elevates his game from regular season to postseason kinda reminds me of Joe Flacco. Flacco in the regular season was at best an average QB with a couple higher caliber seasons thrown in there. But man when it came to the Playoffs, Flacco was surprisingly clutch a lot of the time. I think to this day he still has the most road Playoff victories by a QB. Maybe second behind Brady but I know he’s got a good amount
