Bill Simmons admits he will probably regret not voting Jokic for MVP for the rest of his life. Praised Denver’s offense, the team’s performance at home and Jokic and Murray as a duo.

>”Even the Warriors, as great as Curry is they’ll have sections where their offense just breaks down, you don’t really see it with Denver, and this was the case for him in voting for MVP which i ultimately decided not to do and will probably regret for the rest of my life…”
>
>”I just don’t think they ever break-down with him, when he is on the court, they’re gonna get a good shot, he didn’t even shoot that well in Game 1 ( vs MIN) and he was still awesome, other than Murray he was the most impactful guy in the game.”

Does NBA have the stupidest media of all sports?

  2. Crafty_Sir2713

i think Jokic was even more deserving of it this past season than prior ones but c’mon lmao.

  3. I’m very much rooting for Jokic to prove himself in the playoffs, and so far, so good. But I also understand why the media changed their votes at the end of the season. Jokic clearly didn’t care about the award and took his foot off the gas, while Embiid campaigned for it both on and off the court.

I won’t feel back for Jokic at all, because he doesn’t care. But the media may be embarrassed if the Nuggets continue to have success in the playoffs.

Probably didn’t want him to win 3 in a row since Bird was the last one to do it lol

/r/NBA stop interpreting hyperbole so seriously challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

This might be jokers year.. kind of like Giannis.

Win back to back MVP, fall short in the playoffs both years. Lose out on third MVP and go win finals MVP.

It would be cool if Denver wins.. I’m rooting for them especially because I wanna see Murray explode throughout these playoffs

Simmons is the biggest prisoner of the moment I’ve ever seen

  8. bearsquadz

about damn time we get some MVP discussion in here

  9. darthese

I hope embid remembers to mention Perkins during his speech.

  10. LordBaneoftheSith

I love how many of these award voters just openly admit that the last thing they saw is what makes up their mind. Like fuckin pigeons chasing a shiny bottle cap.

Bill Simmons, Kendrick Perkins, Nick Wrong, Stephen A are some of the reasons why noone should support and listen to whatever the media says

Bill Simmons: This MVP race is so toxic 🙁

Also Bill Simmons: I will regret this choice for the rest of my life. (award has not been announced yet)

So he regrets not giving Jokic a regular season mvp award because of how good he and his teammate looked in a first round series in the playoffs. What a jabroni.

  14. SeasonalRot

MVP discourse this year was so annoying, give it to Markelle Fultz.

  15. AllPulpOJ

hes joking around with his bud, yall need to touch grass if yall take this so serious

Why do people post this trash ass hot take man on this subreddit constantly? He doesn’t talk about basketball nuances just recycled, re-hashed narratives while Russillo jacks off in the corner.

  17. bradleynana

Bill knew Embiid was going to win so he wanted to keep that “I’ve voted for the winner” every time thing he has going on. Him and Russilo never really wanted to vote for Embiid but they saw they saw were the tide was going and decided to ride it

  18. Lvl99Cheerio

They won 1 game in the second round and now he’s buggin about his regular season award voting choice

  19. birkencroc

This is what happened when the final 1/10th of the season matters infinitely more than the first 9/10ths. Denver coasted at the end because they had no reason not to, and people forgot how dominant Jokic was for so long. Now games matter again and people are realizing how good the Nuggets are lol

  20. slippythehogmanjenky

Oh good, I was really hoping the MVP conversation would keep going after the vote ended.

Bill simmons is just an emotional and reactionary sports fan. Whatever he SEES and has an emotional reaction to is what he will latch onto. Like when you have a toy and you wave it in front of a baby. It’s what they see so they want it.

Bill hasn’t seen Embiid play in over a week now so he suddenly forgets why he even voted for him. It’s just the way it goes.

It’s also why he didn’t really have anything of note to say about LeBron all year and then he went to game 4 against Memphis and had all these narratives ready to go about LeBrons career and how amazing it will be if he wins a 5th.

If Embiid comes back in this Boston series and has an insanely good game bill will just quickly jump back to being glad he voted for embiid. It’s just the way he is. Purely a reactionary sports “analyst”

  22. Zachkah

He talked all year about “this is a regular season award” “you can’t take the post season into account because it’s a regular season award” and then after one round he’s regretting his pick because the playoffs show you who players really are. They’re just not very good at this, unfortunately.

  23. siphillis

Part of me wants the Nuggets to win it all purely because it’s the funniest possible outcome for a season where everyone obsessed about Embiid being the MVP.

  24. Fizzer19

At this point if we don’t win i want Jokic to win for all the bs talk he had to face for no reason.

Jokic literally does not talk shit about anyone (he did KO somene but that was deserved)

  25. herseyhawkins33

Embiid’s deserving but the amount of criticism jokic took for just having abother incredible season was pathetic

  26. Sm0othlegacy

But this crap isn’t based on playoff performance 😕
