It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of [concerns over privacy and the Open Web](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmputatorBot/comments/ehrq3z/why_did_i_build_amputatorbot).

Maybe check out **the canonical page** instead: **[https://www.oregonlive.com/nba/2023/05/portland-trail-blazers-linked-to-minnesota-forward-karl-anthony-towns.html](https://www.oregonlive.com/nba/2023/05/portland-trail-blazers-linked-to-minnesota-forward-karl-anthony-towns.html)**

    I’d be fine with it.

Would need to surround him and Dame with good defenders but it’d be fun with the bonus of no more Nurk

Please no- overpriced, injury prone, and can’t guard. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good basketball player, and an okay dude- just not a good fit for Portland. We’re already the worst defense in the league. Gimme Siakam, OG, or Bridges any day over KAT

  4. natural_lawg

If we give up on defense and the offense is the top in the west, I have hope.

    I mean, sure, whatever, fine.

But I just don’t want Minnesota to be the team that fleeces us and lives fat off our hard earned capital for the next 10 years.

  6. slide_drexler

Please no. We don’t need another Center without a post game that starts the season out of shape and plays soft while having a bad attitude.

  7. katelyn912

Trading in our “Oops, all guards!” lineup for an “Oops, all offense!” one isn’t exactly an improvement

If this is a move and not the only move, I see a way this could work. We would need some defense first wings (maybe resign MT?, bring back Grant). Our center position is a major weakness, it’s not great on either end of the court. If you got KAT for the right price and could bring in the appropriate role players, I could see it working.

    Ignore this shit.

His entire article is aggregating one paragraph from a heavy.com article titled :

‘Everyone Knows’ Knicks Eyeing Trade for Star Karl-Anthony Towns: NBA Execs

    https://heavy.com/sports/new-york-knicks/trade-karl-anthony-towns-nba/

Here is the excerpt from the original article.

    >Among the teams executives mentioned as potential suitors for Towns: Brooklyn and Miami (two teams that will inevitably come up in any potential superstar trade talks in the next six months, though the Heat’s Jimmy Butler has a rocky history with Towns), Portland (in a Damian Lillard deal?) and Indiana. Should Boston consider dealing away All-Star wing Jaylen Brown, which is a longshot, the Celtics could offer the best single player in return for Towns.

The rest of it is speculating trade machine ideas.

This is not serious news or a groundbreaking scoop.

  10. Did anyone actually read the article? It’s all speculation off of a single line from heavy.com.

Not to mention they theorize we’d trade lillard for him. Just lol

  11. RIPSCHITTY

Wtf is the article.talking about Towns….for Dame?!!? I’m stoned or they are.

I think this is the plan:

Nurkic, Simons and Nas plus either the 2023 FRP or 1-2 future FRPs (depending on protections) for KAT.

The salary match is almost perfect.

I think it will depend on where the 2023 pick lands.
