Really great pod, highly recommend listening to the full thing. General summary:

    – they don’t want people walking away from the season thinking progress was being made (9:30ish)
    – team not as talented as we thought when we made the trade
    – Gobert needs to practice with KAT and team to get on the same page. Can’t do euro basket
    – Finch knows two way bball players are trending, the way the nba is going, need offense and defense. But instead we have two tent pole players who are one sided. Whole thing hinges on them working together but the way things are trending need only one of them on the court at the time
    – too many excuses being made in the post season pressers with Connolly, Finch, Gobert were bad and disingenuous seeming. Feels like they are convincing themselves it will work and will eventually move on. Justifications are scary as they don’t seem to fully believe in it
    – Jaden has to stay out of foul trouble
    – KAT is rough – net negative on/off, mentally rattled, wants to claim top dog status without actually being that good when it counts,
    – when you go all in like this, you can’t pussyfoot around, you HAVE to be a contender, we are never greater than the sum of our parts
    – with shifting focus to “second window” ie Ant and Jaden, rather than KAT/Gobert window, need maturity from both bigs. Need them to find roles like Conley does- go with the flow of the game
    – Rudy’s defense restricts KATs offense to such an intense degree. Needs to improve next year. KAT is no longer a walking top ten offense.
    – Finch has so tied his rep to the two big lineup – funny point about KAT and Willy Cauley Stein
    – Gobert and KAT need to emphasize where they are elite, minimize where they are not, let’s not pretend they are two way players, if Ant continues to blossom, Jaden blossoms, And Naz does well, yea okay you could get to the conference finals.
    – If you could get back 80% of the trade right now just in terms of picks, not even players, they’d give gobert back given his restrictions, contract etc
    – Funny ass Britt rant about Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore thinking they are smarter than everyone (56ish min)

That’s as far as I got tonight lol

I love these pods, but damn have they been pissed at the wolves. I get the reasons for negativity but they’re behind pessimistic. They’re pissed.

These guys are typical Minnesota pessimists and have about as much inside info and insight as 99% of the posters on this board. Move on, crybabies.

Idk dane seems kinda bitchy in this one

Do they really not think progress was made? Ant made a big jump, Naz made a big jump, Jaden made great strides, the Conley and NAW acquisitions paid off… all of that in the face of a revolving door of instability throughout the year with injuries, illnesses and personal absences.

I’d bet the house this team delivers an additional 5+ wins next season and gets into the second round at least. So long as everyone is mostly healthy, I genuinely believe that.

Ant is 21. We may have a 10+ year window with him. If Jaden doesn’t punch a wall maybe we’re playing the Warriors right now. Good teams lose in the first round. Golden State lost twice in the first round before they began their dynasty.

We have been so bad for so long, I’m optimistic to have Jaden and Ant. The possible growth of Minott over the next few years could be impressive too. You can’t just blow it up every year, certainly not after KAT misses 50 games. It will be pretty evident by the end of next year if we have to make a change. If we resign Naz and it doesn’t work with 2 bigs, we will have a lot of flexibility next offseason (and a FRP).

I just don’t know how you walk away with any substantial takes from this season aside from the individual growth of Ant, McDaniels, and Reid.

The Wolves were basically three substantially different teams over the span of 89 games. The segments including the most used lineup are as follows:

**Try to Hit the Ground Running**

    October 19 to November 29

    Russell – Ant – McDaniels – Towns – Gobert

    108.2 OFFRTG 104.2 DEFRTG 4.0 NETRTG

(16th out of 30 of the top 30 lineups in the league used in that span)

    **KAT Injury**

    November 30 to February 8

    Russell – Ant – McDaniels – Anderson – Gobert

    114.8 OFFRTG 100.9 DEFRTG 13.9 NETRTG

(5th out of 30 of the top 30 lineups in the league used in that span)

    **Post Deadline**

February 9 to the end of the season

Conley – Ant – McDaniels – Gobert (4 man lineup info)

    121.1 OFFRTG 112 DEF RTG 9.2 NETRTG

(3rd out of 30 of the top 30 lineups in the league used in that span)
