Nets overhauling Jacque Vaughn’s coaching staff. Reason for worry in Brooklyn?



The Nets have some changes in their coaching ranks with the team moving on from assistants Igor Kokoskov, Brian Keefe, and Tiago Splitter. With the team facing changes as a squad next year, and unclear goals heading into the off-season, is this the best time to start overhauling the coaching staff? Doug Norrie take a look at the movies by the Nets and what it could mean for Jacque Vaughn’s bench going forward.

There are already some interesting names being floated for who the team could bring in and there are moves the team could make with their current remaining staff as well.

    I don't care about who we hire to coach. I care about what Vaughn wants to run on both sides of the ball

    First off why should Brooklyn be worried???

    Coaching staff changes happen to almost every team in the NBA…

    Most of these coaches had ties to KD and Kyrie so restarting with a clean slate is not a bad move…

    Plus coach Vaughn coaches with discipline energy and focus. Building a coaching staff with similar traits will allow for coach Vaughn to get fresh ideas on strategies during games and how to better close out quarters which Brooklyn was struggling with during the end of the season…

    Hope that whoever joins the coaching staff will be attentive active and ready to compete…..

    I need to investigate and I hope you will, have already said, or saying now HOW can we have so many coaches when for years coaches had one or two assistants.

    I hope one of Jacque Vaughn's new assistant coaches is the present Long Island Nets head coach, Ronnie Burrell. He should be offered the job as soon as possible based on his performance as the head coach of the Long Island Nets. Keeping promotions, in house as much as possible, will contribute to continuity of the coaching staff. If we don't give him this promotion, other franchises have taken notice of him and will try to acquire him.

    Instead of the coaching bench, one of Brooklyn goals should be to build up a solid bench depth during the off-season…

    Having too many small guards in seth curry patty Mills cam Thomas and Edmond Sumner led to Brooklyn bench being strained especially on the defensive side and the starting unit had to play more..

    Brooklyn needs an effective backup center behind Claxton who can rebound and add some offensive punch. Andre Drummond and Christian Wood are some choices to fill that roll..

    Also finding a Bruce brown type player who can make all sorts of plays on the offensive and defensive side would be a great addition….

    If Brooklyn wanted to add a young player in the off-season with lots of potential Matisse tyhbulle would be a great addition for Brooklyn.

    At one point he was the best defender on the 76er squad and gave a lot of top players fits on the defensive side…

    Matisse biggest issue has been his lack of offense. However he showed in some instances an agressive attitude to get rebounds cut to the rim to score and knock some threes down..

    People also forget Matisse tyhbulle gave Stephen Curry one of the worst offensive nights of his legendary career with exceptional defense…

    Matisse tyhbulle is one of those diamond in the rough Bruce brown type players who could grow on a much more skilled younger Brooklyn squad….
