Led by Anthony Davis’s 30 points and 23 rebounds, the No. 7 seed Los Angeles Lakers defeat the No. 6 seed Golden State Warriors in Game 1, 117-112. LeBron James added 22 points and 11 rebounds in the victory, while Stephen Curry (27 points, 6 3pt. FG) and Klay Thompson (25 points, 6 3pt. FG) combined for 52 points for the Warriors. The Lakers lead the best-of-seven series, 1-0, with Game 2 taking place on Thursday, May 4 (9:00 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Since blocks were tracked in 1973-74, Anthony Davis joins Tim Duncan (twice) as the only players in NBA Playoff history to record 30+ points, 20+ rebounds, 5+ assists and 4+ blocks in a playoff game.

Shaquille O’Neal (9 times)

    I can’t believe that arena was PACKED, there were whole sections of empty seats ! That’s crazy this should be the most hyped series in this years playoffs !

    Lakers domiinated the paint! Golden State gotta step it up down low or this series goes to the Lakers! Having a big man is an extremely important piece to have and Golden State needs that to beat the Lakers!

    Being a Denver fan myself, I want both of these teams to eventually lose… That said, I want LBJ's season to end this series!

    No way Warriors shooting can overpower easy interior buckets/rebounds by Lakers. They'll die on that hill and battle it out but Lakers are gonna come out on top

    This was winnable game for GS, at 9:01 when Curry has the ball (16 seconds on the shot clock), everyone need to come out and set the pick for him to get open. Poole does it first, the second pick should be by Thompson. The play to make is a hot potato catch and release for Klay or Curry to be open for the 3. No way he runs into the paint to face Godzilla AD with a reach from here to Kalamazoo on a layup floater. Run that play back again, and I assure you they won't do that again. You'll live with Klay or Curry shooting from beyond the ARC. The two man game of Klay or Curry is what won them 4 Championships, dont stop it now.

    Clash of the Titans. I really want the Lakers to win game 2, but I know the Warriors are just that. A brilliant and dynamic team that knows how to get it done. That finish was too intense. Very eager to watch. Long live the King.

    Sheeeesh the Lakers playing long ball 🏀 the warriors gone have to play smarter & not go for the first shot when they down in the paint a shot blocker such as AD be waiting on stuff like that. Next game is going to be exciting cause i already know adjustments will be made.
