Drove me insane last night, seeing all the brutal Jordan Poole bashing on Reddit and Twitter for taking that shot… from not just NBA fans, not just Warriors fans, but the sports media world.
1. You are down 3 with under 10 seconds remaining. 2. They are completely selling on Steph and have him double teamed. 3. The paint is completely locked down. 4. There is not enough time 2 for 1 possession situation on a drive anyways. 5. Taking it with 10 seconds was enough time for a possible offensive rebound and second attempt. 6. Draymond Green can’t shoot wide open let alone with AD on him. 7. He takes a dribble to get a couple steps closer and he risks two things potentially happening 1. Vanderbilt closes out on him and further contests. 2. He takes the shot out of rhythm, with lateral momentum, and his feet not set. 8. I’ve watched Poole hit that shot from that range more times than I can remember. 9. Poole was a massive reason they even got back in that game (21 points, 6 assists, 1 TO, 6-11 3PT).
Thank you Hali for making me feel sane in a world of morons. Glad this popped up in my feed.
I just appreciate Hali sticking up for the dude, as many have bashed him, and I love how he was confused on “why that was such a bad shot” especially given the variables and dynamics of the situation.
He’s already intellectually a basketball savant and a fearless leader and he only just turned 23. 📈

He’s right though That’s a good shot Poole shoots from there

Tyrese got moose antlers in the offseason. Fresh.

This is just setting Haliburton to take that shot and make it next year. It’s gonna be amazing
