  1. Notable Quotes from Kuminga (and a Wiggins one):

    > “It’s tough going through this season and being in (the game) most of the time and then things just flip out of nowhere without you knowing what’s going on,” Kuminga told The Chronicle.

    >“**It’s still tough to lock in every single time. It’s still tough to smile every single time**,” Kuminga said. “But knowing where I’ve come from, seeing how many things that I’ve actually been through that a lot of people don’t know that got me to this point… I feel like throughout my career, throughout my life, I’ve never been given anything. I’ve seen so many people just get handed stuff. That’s never happened to me.

    >“When I was in high school I was definitely the No. 1 player, but it never got handed to me, I had to prove my point. … **You can’t stop the sun from shining, and at some point, the sun is going to come out. That’s what keeps me ready every day.**”

    > **“JK is always positive,” Wiggins said of his teammate on Tuesday. “He’s working hard, always wants to learn and he’s a young kid.** Everyone knows he wants to be out there. I know he’s going to get his opportunity, and when he does, I know he’ll make the best of it.”

    >Despite continuing to be passed up in Kerr’s playoff rotation, Kuminga shared a similar outlook.

    >“At this point in my life, in my career, there’s not much to be afraid of,” Kuminga said. “There’s no matchup I can’t handle… **A day is going to come where I get my way, and everytime I get my way things turn out well. So I’m just waiting for my moment… I’m always going to be ready to play**.”

Kerr needs to at least put Kuminga out there for 5 minutes just to see what he looks like attacking AD and LeBron. Need some physicality in this series.

I’m sorry but Kuminga needs to shut up, it’s the PLAYOFFS, you can’t be giving interviews about YOURSELF. Just say “I’m dedicated to staying ready and doing what’s best to help the team win.” Look at Moody!!!! He stfu all year even after Lamb played over him and now he’s getting minutes because he understands how important things like rebounding are.

JK can be privately frustrated but who does this help?? Agreeing to this interview??

Everyone on this team is so selfish and pouting about their minutes even after Steph told them all to suck it up. There’s no connectedness to a TEAM goal it’s all about themselves individually. The narcissism is insane. Imagine if JTA & DLee pouted last season. No they got zero minutes and were just good teammates!!!

Wish Kuminga had Moody’s mindset instead of doing this “woe is me” emo interview. Steph had to call Kuminga out before game 7 because it’s probably impacting the vibes on the team.

This doesn’t seem like a GP2 series. DLo looked weirdly unbothered by him and the Lakers are just so big. Kuminga should get a shot to just to see if he’s an option this series.

It always cracks me up how

    1. just random people sit right next to the players

    2. these huge athletes sit in these teeny folding chairs like everyone else that are uncomfortable even for smaller people

    Just seems weird

  7. parisdubs

Very weird interview to give – shows mostly how sulky he is feeling not how strong.

if donte couldnt give you anything all series and still given rope the next series, if jmg gave you nothing all year and still could get minutes in the playoffs, kuminga should be afforded the same opportunity too. he, similar to poole, would perform/ focus better when they know they’ll have time on the court. it’s always a dance with them tho–between production and disaster.

i feel for the kid, especially because he has been playing well the latter half of the season. feelings aside, the smart thing is still to let him get some minutes and see what he can produce. if he doesnt, then you can show him why he cant play more. but you have to give him the opportunity instead of pre-determining what he is/isnt and can/cannot do on the court.

At what point does he stop getting benched for his first mistake? We watched JP have a terrible series and he still gets a lot of minutes. We watched Donte not really do anything well last series and still get minutes. JMG, a guy that JK outplayed in the regular season, is now getting minutes over him.

I completely understand his frustration. I’m sure anyone on this sub would feel the same way at his age.

The coaches either need to play him, tell him the truth about why he’s not getting minutes or tell him what he needs to do to get those minutes. If they continue to play mind games with the young man, then wtf?

He’s 20 people. He doesn’t know optics. Give him a break.

I’d fire his agent though for letting him give this interview during the playoffs.

Lets go Kuminga! The whole Dubs Nation is behind you !

  12. Witty_Tonight_6478

We need him this series, i dont know how he didnt get minutes in game 1. We could use some
Pressure and defense on the paint

  13. buffbeaglewants2play

Anyone else sick of hearing NBA players talk about how hard it is to have to play a game 82 times per year while being paid millions of dollars to do it?

  14. Kuminga has all the reasons to be upset, the coaching staff has never trusted him and that’s the issue. You can’t get subbed out after missing a single rebound, then he’d never learn.
Kuminga was supposed to be drafted by OKC, that was the ideal place for him to thrive

GSW is a guard/shooters focused team, if you can’t shoot the 3 ball, then rebound and give to the guards to shoot, and that’s not the ideal place for an athletic wing to thrive.
