"Embiid just grabbed his meat"
– Tim Legler
JJ, please leave first take and invest your time into doing more of your own things. And please involve more Legler!
Hi JJ, it's "asterisk" 🙂
Thank you for talking about the fouls. Warriors fanatics don’t seem to understand logic. Lakers attack the paint and play great defense since all star break. Warriors chuck up 3s and play bad defense and have to foul.
Great, great episode! Love that the focus is on actual basketball for the most part. Excellent analysis while still have fun – none of the manufactured story lines and yelling at each other. Great dynamic between you two, would love to see more conversations as the playoffs go on.
Max Kellerman, JJ, Legs. Great pod I'm waiting for.
“Embiid grabbed his meat and he’s out” 😂😂😂😂 1:01:33
warriors in 5
Spoelstra is HOFer
Grabbed his meat😂😂😂😂
This is as good as podcasting gets. Salute to everyone involved!
I feel smarter after watching this podcast.
It is high-level material without being highbrow.
Thank you again.
Jj and Legs are the modern day Bron and Wade
“you can’t say he grabbed his meat” 😂😂 OG don’t know no better let him live
46:56 – 47:42
This is a perfect definition of coaching.
Y’all are amazing
Jj talking about shots looked good pheonix has never played that tough of defense for an entire game and it showed having no legs in the 4th shots were just a little short
Steph is great but he does not have the individual awards to crack top 5 if we are being honest with ourselves. 4 all nba seasons and top 5 mvp finishes is not even comparable to magic/bird/kobe/duncan
38:46 After Legz asks his direct question (with the obvious answer) straight up to JJ, the camera cuts to the closeup of Tommy getting the cue from his left (JJ off camera) to take over and lead the conversation elsewhere…. Womp womp!
Wait, not just “elsewhere”, but straight into an unrelated pro-LeBron talking point about succeeding in different situations…
Major media not allowed to suggest anyone could be better than the KANG except Jordan for talk show debates?
Just come out and admit Kareem’s resume is CLEARLY better on paper (that’s what’s a resume is, accomplishments on paper).
Nothing wrong with plain old honesty.
Not everyone is going to have a Nate Robinson kind of player on the bench, with the potential to put up 20,30 points.
🔥🔥
really disappointed i would’ve thought jj woulda said something about the officiating in game 2 of the heat knicks series
Legacy talk is great when actual grown ups are doing it like this. I think that at the moment, we have 3 places set: Bron, MJ and Kareem. Nobody is pushing them out. 4th spot has to be a "specialist" in something: Magic best passer ever, Steph best shooter ever, Russell best winner ever (and best defender ever), Wilt most dominant ever (and best rebounder ever), Duncan also has an incredible consistency thing.
To me, the legacy argument more interesting is Magic vs Steph. Magic imho has still the edge, but it's getting closer and closer. If Steph wins the Warriors another ring, I think he can get his spot as the best PG of all times.
Great content!
We need more of this. I could listen to these guys talk for an hour about every game of the season. Top notch.
JJ can you please explain why darvin ham doesn’t play Lonnie walker
yeah, the correct take was always simple: not an awful look but should have been better by a few feet
tim leger is basically jj reddick 20 years older ! they are both brilliant basketball minds ! and dont forget tommy alter , guy is the best sidekick on planet earth
Poole has hit that shot a lot of times. I didn’t see anything wrong with him shooting a deep 3 and he was hot that game. If he made it he would’ve been a hero. Warriors will be fine though just have to make some adjustments like letting Curry handle the ball more so he doesn’t get trapped in a corner.
Legler has always been to my most reliable nba source for insight on the game. Redick has become one of my favorites too.
I was just thinking of this collab the day before this was released 🔥🔥
Michael's play style really was that of a bull 🐮
JJ needs his own show on ESPN… he’s by far the best analyst who played at a high level for 10 plus years. He was nightmare for defensive players because they would have to chase him around 5 screens a possession lol. Him and Jason Terry were the best at coming off screens and shooting before Curry got to the league. Just unstoppable, I remember in the finals when JT and the Mavs just started laughing at Lebron because he was chasing JT like a cat and mouse game. JT was just making him run for no reason knowing he wasn’t getting the ball sometimes.
This is what I wish ESPN was
Poole wasn't going to get a more open look, but with 11 seconds left, I think he probably should have at least tried to hit Klay or Steph or something.
This is an All Star podcast crew w JJ and Legs
This interactions between Tim Legler and JJ are my favorites and It’s Not Even Close
No excuse for 14 sorry but all sudden after that finals suddenly the heat were too old and all this extra bull. When they was running shop all year nobody said a damn thing.
Ouueyyy that golf sweater is👌🏿. N this pod is for all the hoop fans that love the details of every possession. Tim n JJ have great chemistry, I'd like to see them both call a game
Schröder was great in Game 1
Tim played the bulls? Lolol
I agree w/ the rest of the of the comments get Legs on here multiple times next season once at the beginning once in the middle like all star break another when the playoffs started like now
I'm sorry what does going to three different places have anything todo with anything just because you goto 3 different teams doesn't mean the games changes lebron had like 3 different coaches on the same team lol lebron is going todo lebron no matter where he goes only reason he left is because he believed there was better players there or better draft capital. I do not think this is an argument for him 😂
"Embiid just grabbed his meat; he's out." ⏸😭😭💀
Great convo. Spo is the best coach in the NBA right now. Hands down.
