I don’t think the Kings should just let him walk. Their first priority should be to sign and trade him. Second should be just to sign him. That’s my opinion.

Barnes was important for us he started all 82. That’s a rare talent these days.
Ya I was thinking move Sabonis to 4 and put some money up for Brooke Lopez at 5. Then get vezenkov over here and he can play 3 or the 4 and with Lyles and Metu all those guys in the front court gives us so much versatility.
If the Kings can get either Kyle Kuzma, Jeremi Grant or Kris Middleton, it would be a clear upgrade over Barnes. Some people think we could get one of them.
But, I am not sure. I would hope for one of the them. However, it will depend on price for anyone.
Because of the Sabonis contract next off season.
Also bringing back Trey Lyles and finding a consistent backup 5 need to happen.
The Barnes contract does matter. Because I don't see Vivek doing what Golden State does. He might for a year or two, but not a decade of it.
Hell no with Draymond Green. Help or no….no damn way.
Brook Lopez is a good option, but not sure if he is the best option or not. Rebounder, shot blocker…yeah. able to score some. Yeah. Just not sure if he really raises the ceiling.
Rui Hachimura would need to develop a better shot. He could help…but not a clear upgrade over Barnes. Barnes would be preferred and Rui Hachimura as a backup. I don't see him as an upgrade.
Doesn't Kuzma stay injured a lot?
I think we all know by now a GM like Monte is willing to make moves that involve a level of risk. Don't be surprised if we see a couple of trades this off-season retooling the roster, it's all for the better.

If Barnes goes monk can start at 2 huerter at 3 then vezenkov off the bench. Then like a deangelo russel in that 2nd unit would be legit.
Let him walk. Shouldn’t be a starter for the Kings.
He was a let down this season straight no show in the playoffs

I think he could be a glue guy when he gets really old, but he's been a great piece for our team in the regular season. I think he should probably come off the bench next season instead of starting but I think resigning him is in our best interests.
