  1. Playoffs today are how regular games were played 20 years ago. Regular season today is how 8-year-olds play messing around at a gym in school.

  2. Maybe reducing the number of regular season games to 70 or less will make it even more serious?

  4. The difference is preparing for sure but I think a lot has to do with players also not worrying about stats since the season is over. Clean slate and their contracts are obligated.. example : we all know players won’t shoot some shots if their contract is based off them shooting X percentage. In the playoffs that don’t exist so players play balls to the wall cause they can play more free.

  5. Playoff basketball is 1000x better than regular season, but i wish the referee crews had consistency on whether or not they allow physical games. Some crews encourage physical play and call essentially nothing, whereas others call games like the regular season with tons of fouls. Teams have to adjust playstyles based on officiating crews, which shouldnt have to happen imo

  6. Legler literally played in the playoffs once in 10 years. In a league where half the teams make it lol

  7. I mean they just simply try harder , everything you both are saying can be simplified into “They try harder”

  8. A shortened season will only solve 1 problem and that's absolutely nothing will change except for, all of the all times records are safe.

  9. I think some reward based competition like domestic cups in football ⚽️ that happens through the regular season will make the league a lot more interesting and entertaining to watch than the usual repetitive tedious 82 games played till we get to the playoffs to get some real competitive action

  10. Playoffs feel different because the consequences for losing are way higher than in the regular season. A loss in the regular season doesn't have the same direct consequence as a loss in the playoffs which is why it becomes a lot more intense.

  11. I would listen to these guys for hours, if they had a show on tv, even if i’m listening from italy I would watch and listen to them night and day. this is how debates should be honestly, not from guys who just scream out loud thinking they know basketball from the top down.

  12. playoffs is really the only thing that you can judge players by. Everyone coasting through the reg. season, nobody cares, people put up big numbers because nobody wants to show their defensive plan against elite scorers that's why they score at will and then dip drastically in the playoffs. Reg season stat inflation is real.
