I like Anthony Black’s upside a lot, but do expect him to struggle a bit until he finds his jumper (if he ever does). Lots of overlap with Deni (although Deni’s PG skills are much more theoretical), but I’m not sure you can have too many heady 6’7″ dudes who can defend and handle the ball.
If the team is looking for the best piece to pair with the Mid-Three (which they shouldn’t be), I feel like Cason Wallace would be a better pick, but I think I’d rather bet on Black long-term.

I like him as a player but seems like a high level glue-guy when we lack any kind of future star potential. Crossing my fingers the team is in position to take a high upside swing. Despite his feel/IQ, I don’t get the feeling he has elite PG potential due to his lack of scoring upside. The outside shot is pretty scary.
Maybe they really believe in him escalating his rim pressure and being able to improve his shooting. Or maybe he’s upsized Rajon Rondo. Or maybe we don’t get any lottery/draft luck and none of the upside guys fall. I’d be ok with him in that scenario but I’d hate to pass on higher upside (and possibly lower floor) players like the Thompsons or Taylor Hendricks or Whitmore if available.
