[The Athletic] I think they’ll need to keep Kuminga around because the Warriors need more talent, not less. (Unless they can package Poole and Kuminga together for a borderline star like, say, Toronto’s OG Anunoby.)

To me, they missed the peak to go all in on Steph, but they’ve got to do it now

Its too late.
The Draymond punch on their rising star and the heir to steph was symbolic on many different levels.

I doubt Kuminga and Poole gets Anunoby with what they reportedly turned down for him before
mMounirM
Kuminga is a stud imo but Poole ruins the package.

I don’t get why no one wants to call Klay out. He’s really the problem. That contract and his production are killing them.

Why settle for a borderline allstar when you can have a real allstar in Ben Simmons?
LAL-27n29-Picks
I feel bad for young players that get drafted to teams with expectations. Kuminga could’ve been on a young team putting up big numbers earning a big 2nd contract, but instead he was buried on the bench
Klunko52
No I don’t want Kum Bucket to leave 🙁

I can’t believe the Dubs drafted busts at 2/7/14(maybe) and massively overpaid the only great pick they did make (Poole). Worst part is those were the exact moves I wanted them to make, thank God I’m not a GM
Edit: for all those saying that Wiseman/Kuminga/Moody aren’t busts, I completely agree and I think all three have the potential to blossom. But they were clearly raw project players (except maybe Moody), that need a lot of reps to get better. I guess that’s the weirdest part about the strategy – if they had picked players like Lamelo, Haliburton or Franz, arguably higher BBIQ players, they would have been in a much better position now.

Poole is getting no return rn. The only solution is to have him train hard in the offseason, have a huge “he put on 20 lbs of muscle” kind of campaign in preseason, have him put up big numbers in opening week, and then move him to the 1st team thinking they got a potential star to pair with their main guy (Charlotte).
Based_and_JPooled
How about someone like Alec Burks? They don’t need someone as good as OG, just someone who can create and shoot a little, and not get played off the floor.

I don’t think Toronto would have an interest in Poole… just antithetical to Masai’s type of player. Kuminga + Payton would be more realistic as a framework and matches salaries nicely… I’m not sure that gets it done from Toronto’s perspective or if there are better offers if OG is on the market. Payton is probably worth more to a contender right now, so finding a third team to take him, flipping a cheap rotation player back to the Warriors and low-value prospect/pick to Toronto might get them closer.
harden4mvp13
Maybe I’m an idiot but am I the only one who thinks OG is overvalued af? Likes he’s a good player but I personally think Kuminga alone has more value then him.
DrKurgan
Good luck trying to get OG from Masai.
Necessary_Initial350
Can a raps fan tell me if Anunoby is an actual borderline star??
With the headlines I see about this guy I’d been expecting an outcry against him not being 3rd team all nba.
grossbrendan
Every analyst out there, “hey take these two garbage players for OG.” Why would Toronto do this????
_picture_me_rollin_
I just want to remind everyone that Franz Wagner was available when the warriors picked kuminga.
As a Magic fan I remember being disappointed because I wanted kuminga. That’s why I don’t work in the front office lol.
cabezon8
That’s a horrible trade
NoBigDill88
Toronto will not be stupid enough to trade away OG for Poole.
AccomplishedFront563
I swear people exaggerate this kid just like they did Wiseman. Steph is carrying and they’ll sell low on Kuminga in 2 years
Mr_E_Nigma_Solver
Why would Toronto take that deal?
AdvancedBasket_ND
Media really think the big/popular markets can just get anybody for their scraps.
I don’t see anybody in the national media ecosystem clamouring for the raptors to package GTJ and Malachi Flynn for Mikal Bridges but here we are
