[Shelburne] During the season, sources say Warriors owner Joe Lacob presented multiple contract extension offers that would make Myers one of the league’s highest-paid executives . . . But Myers, sources say, genuinely doesn’t know what he wants to do, and talks have been tabled for some time.

Bob wants out too, doesn’t want to play hard ball negotiations with Klay and dray when he’s that close with both, not much assets to work with, unhappy young players etc

  2. TheRed_Knight

it probably comes down to contract length, Meyers prob wants a 3 year deal and Lacob wants him locked up for 5+

Yeah I gotta apologize to Lacob on this one, thought he was lowballing Myers or something. It’s clear that this is all on Myers and whether he still wants to do the job or not. Mike Dunleavy is a close friend of Myers and is being considered for the job if Myers doesn’t want it anymore, highly doubt Dunleavy would take his friend’s job like that if Myers left after a contentious negotiation with Lacob.

“**One of**” being the operative phrase. Anything other than being THE highest-paid executive is spitting in Bob’s face lol

just a speculation…. it’s probably an internal issue with the management, kerr and the young players/wiseman. kerr refused to play the rookies when myers wanted him to develop them.

Mike Dunleavy quintessential white privilege, failing up kinda candidate

Bob made the dynasty and probably doesn’t want to be the one to break it uo and move/get rid of/not re-sign Dray and or Klay

If I ever had mid 8 figures in the bank I wouldn’t want to do any job let alone one where the public ignorantly ridicules me.

    🤷‍♂️

  9. Bob’s a local guy. he has kids. this is his dream job. maybe he just wants some family time for awhile.

I’m sure they will figure it out. We need both of our big 3’s:

Lacob + Kerr + Myers (front office big 3) 🔒

Steph + Dray + Klay (on the court big 3) 🔒

I think bob is looking for the next phase of his career. When he interviewed j cole, it made me think he wants to do more than just sports and may be looking towards a future in media.

This makes more sense then ppl speculating lacob is lowballing myers

This man should have been allowed to buy the A’s. Instead of that shithead over there.

    He’s doing everything to win.

I think Bob has done great work, and it makes me sad to think of him leaving.

But…. I mean, he has to know the next several years are going to be pretty brutal on the GM, right? New salary cap means we can’t keep spending the same way, we have 4 guys on huge contracts, the young guys aren’t as far as they should be… Someone is going to need to have hard discussions on contract extensions. Maybe trade some of the core guys. Try to rebuild in Steph’s remaining years.

I don’t know if that sounds that awesome to someone who helped build a dynasty, and sees that it’s coming to an end.

Legit one bad season and everybody but steph wanna blow up a dynasty that’s sad

Myers doesn’t want to be “one of the highest paid”, but THE highest paid.

And honestly, he’s right. He got us KD. When KD left, he turned it into a sign and trade for DLo, which got us Wiggins and Kuminga.

We probably don’t win 3 of those championships without Durant or Wiggins.

Meyers + Kerr = Phil. The team needs better therapy. Better nutrition. They need a zen master. Steph can only show by example but not teach. They need someone to teach. Klay needs blood transfusions. Draymond needs to stop doing his Podcast. Jordan needs to change his lifestyle and get focus and relaxed and serious. Kerr needs to chill. Bob needs to stay and have a talk with the team about some things and put plans in place to make adjustments in these people’s lifestyles.

I like how Ramona is just paraphrasing what the guys in the Athletic have been saying and not actually being a source.

  18. EezyTokes

Sounds to me like he doesn’t want to be around to make the tough decision of breaking up the big 3. Can’t blame him honestly after how close he is with most of the guys.
