Even though the trade deadlines have long since passed, Sunday felt like the official end of the superstar narrative for the Brooklyn Nets. James Harden and the Sixers were bounced from the playoffs is a crazy blowout at the hands of the Celtics. Harden himself was terrible in the game. And late last week, Kevin Durant and the Suns lost in Game 6 to the Nuggets, getting blown out in back-to-back games to close out the series.
Doug Norrie takes a look at how these new situations now define the narratives for each player, along with Kyrie Irving and the Mavericks not even making the playoffs.
If anything, this now feels like clean slate time for the Nets who move into a new era knowing there was probably little chance the Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving team-up was ever going to work long-term.

I think KD should sign with the Brooklyn Nets
I must say these suns picks we got are feeling great right now. Who knows how the suns are gonna stack up in 2025 at this point? And forget about the rest of the picks later in the decade. I don't see how Phoenix is gonna find a way to be decent by the time durant and cp are old men In 2027 onward. i don't see how the suns are gonna remain competitive with so few picks to build with. Trading ayton is all well and good and they can get good value but probably not enough to make this a strong playoff roster.
Everthing went to hell cuz kyrie wouldn't take a shot
The full point stop to the KD/Kyrie/Harden era would and should be the resignation/firing of Sean Marks.
A good title for this pod cast should be "The Big Three Hangover."
Concerning how things didn't turn out well in the playoffs of our former "big three", it's sour grapes, probably, to most of the Nets fan base, regardless of how you dress it up.
The Big 3 that Never Was:
When we looked at KD Kyrie and Harden you had playmaking precision high volume scoring and a synergy to win..
Unfortunately playing 20 games together amounted to nothin in the long run because their egos undid any potential they had.
James harden wanted a ring but didn't want to be the MVP he was in Houston and purposely destroyed his body. Then he wanted a trade to Philly where all he's brought is inconsistency two second round exits and a rollex for Embid.
Kyrie Irving was the ultimate catalyst that undid all this. He played less games then what he signed on his contract, made the culture toxic and never put the team first… Kyrie thought because he has basketball talent nothin else mattered…
Well going to Dallas and not even qualifying for the playoffs shows that Kyrie Irving will always put himself before the team and he wants money 💰 he hasn't earned…
Kevin Durant the only one that showed up when Brooklyn needed it. But KD problem was he wanted to play basketball without having to be the leader. And unfortunately his ring chasing has affected another Franchise in the Suns who gave up everything for him and they got eliminated in the second round.
Entering 35 still being a quality starter KD though is not enough to solely win a championship anymore….
Ultimately Brooklyn future has never looked brighter….
This summer, we'll see whether Kyrie is at the groveling stage in his career. Contract talks exposes one's true character.
It's not that the 76ers played that bad. It more that the Celtics are that good. Great teams make good teams look bad. Give the Celtics credit. They have an excellent franchise.
