Dame Lillard is confused about Joel Embiid’s quote about how he and James Harden can’t win alone

Maybe out of context but Dame is quite confused about Joel’s quote about how everyone else needs to play better when Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey literally outplayed Joel and Harden in Game 7

Good lord Iā€™m so tired of embiidā€™s excuses. Heā€™s whiny as fuck. He has been surrounded by tons of talent for years and never once put the blame on himself.

  2. Game_Over_Man69

Even PJ Tucker outscored Harden šŸ’€

  3. Raging_Professor

His team actually showed up. He’s the one who didn’t. He played like it was pre season

  4. Fifth_Element_Matrix

I don’t understand Embiid, he literally shits on his teammates who kept him company in the room as sign of support when he was presented with the MVP trophy.

He and Harden were by far the worst in the seventh game.

Me and James, we can’t win ~~alone. That’s why basketball is played 5-on-5. We need everybody to find ways to be better.~~

    Fixed it for Embiid

I understood the comment back during the Simmons time.. but nah Joel you gotta fall on the sword here. You played like total ass and didn’t step up.

What best about this is sixers fans were trying to convince themselves they could get dame and heā€™d lead them to a championship with embiid

He should’ve just focused on criticizing himself. If he had the balls. himself and Harden because the 2 of them are the leaders.

Then he pussied out and tried to downplay it by just saying everyone needs to be better because the 2 of them can’t win because it’s 5v5.

Dawg, you and Harden fucking sucked. Everyone else actually did their parts this game. 24 points on 29 shots and 9 TOs for 8 assists from the star duo.

The entire team’s gameplan revolves around the 2 of them and they have the ball majority of the time. Getting spanked like that with both having terrible performances, that’s the time you hold yourself accountable.

Good leaders who perform well still say “this loss is on me, I should’ve been better. I WILL be better” when they lose.

Embiid did the exact opposite. HE was terrible. Tried to say it’s everyone’s fault. He was all smiles chatting happily with the opponents as soon as they got destroyed and eliminated as well. You don’t need to always cry or look frustrated af but show some disappointment. He really confirmed most people’s criticism of looking like he stopped giving a fuck as soon as he won MVP

E:Embiid apologists working overtime. If MVPity worked as hard as you guys, Doc is probably already preparing all 2 pages of his notepad for his gameplan in the ECF

  9. Intothewildnerness

Embiid is simply crying for more help, he wants to be carried with James and then take all the credit. Some MVP he isā€¦

  10. cs-shitposter

Embiid winning MVP is the best thing that could’ve happened to the Celtics for this series lmao

  11. MikeyMortadella

Everything about his reaction to this loss screams loser mentality. It Fuckin sucks to have defended this dude for years, just to have him not show up in game 7 and make these types of statements to the media.

  12. Vicentesteb

Hes the only player who can be surrounded by multiple all star and all nba calibre players like Al Horford, Butler, Simmons, Harden and have no help.

  13. The 1 constant is embiid. Never takes real accountability. He just says the clichĆ© ā€œits on meā€ spew when everyone knows he doesnā€™t mean it.

  14. ultros03

76ers saying dumb shit after getting knocked out of the playoffs again? Say it ain’t so.

  15. YesOrNah

Man itā€™s funny how they were praising Joel for being such a team player when he was announced mvp.

Less than two weeks later throws entire team under bud while getting outplayed by them.

Dude is a total fucking clown.

  16. wolfishnickelsyr

Dame calling out his BS. Anyone who didnā€™t have an mvp on that team showed up.

  17. Pure-Insurance430

The leader is not throwing under the bus his teammates who actually played their role above expectations, when he is the one who didn’t deliver.

  18. HopOnPop99

If you don’t like Dame, then I don’t like you. The dude is a baller. Get that man some help and he would do something with it.

  19. Invictus23_

Embiid truly stopped caring when he won MVP. That was his Game 7. That was his finals. Unreal.

  20. IranianLawyer

No surprise to see Joel throwing his teammates under the bus after getting eliminated from the playoffs. He did the same thing to Ben Simmons. Maybe itā€™s a Joel thing.

  21. FunPast6610

Durant was smart to say ā€œif I add context it will sound like excuses, we need to be betterā€

  22. ForgotToDieYoung

Character matters. Embiid only plays for himself.

Sixer fans only now finding out what we’ve been trying to tell them all along.

  23. JohnnyQuestions36

Joel blames his teammates for poor playoff performance, I wonder if thatā€™ll boost team chemistry next year. Someone call Ben Simmons and find out.

  24. rookie-mistake

Dame knows what its like to ***actually*** try to win alone haha

that 50 piece double OT loss was so brutal

  25. Captain_Charisma

Has anyone listened to the full quote? Everyone here is reacting to a click bait headline, including Dame. In context it was not bad at all, he was not talking about this game. He was asked about Hardens future with the franchise.

  26. AmbitiousFork

Embiid acting like he’s the one that got 51 points. Absolute clown.
