He’d be a reach at 13 but he’s a guy they were interested in last year before Miller withdrew from the draft
Definitely not what we need right now but I can definitely see Masai buying in to the “we can teach you to shoot” notion given the improvements he made in the G League later on in the season. The kid averaged a double double on real solid efficiency.
If we can get another first then it couldn’t hurt but I think we need a straight up guard rather than a forward with guard skills. That said, I think there is a not insignificant chance we go with Miller despite the team’s current needs.
EDIT: Him being Canadian isn’t likely to be a factor in their assessment of Leonard, for the record. Again, they had their eye on him last year when he was a projected 2nd round pick before he withdrew from the draft to up his stock. So clearly, he’s on their board in some capacity.

I legitimately have no idea who Masai or Bobby will draft. I think the only times I guessed correctly were OG and Jak, because those hewed closest to the mocks.
They have their own method of evaluation and it’s worked pretty well so far, so I will just accept whoever they pick as the right choice until proven otherwise (eg Bruno, Malachi).

I think he would with a later pick for sure, 13 would be high but I could see it happening

He’s not getting past Sam Presti lol

Every end of bench raptors player crushed the G-League too and never touched the floor in the NBA

Trade back for two picks and I can see it, there are some potential trade backs that could be solid
sinova6ix
I could definitely see it the potential is definitely there and people would be big mad which would be understandable as it doesn’t solve any present needs.

Gonna get drafted before us. I think OKC will take him. He’s the most Presti pick ever

Whelmed. For our range in the draft, I genuinely think it’s going to be all over the place considering how fairly even the hype/scouting is amongst them. This isn’t even a case like Scottie, where they went against consensus, cause there really isn’t a solid one for our spot this year. If they truly believe that Leonard is the BPA in terms of ceiling (and his IS pretty damn high), then I almost have to roll with the amount of confidence their scouts have in the kid. Either that or the player they REALLY wanted got sniped ahead of them in a surprising jump (COUGH Bufkin is rising significantly).
And regarding fit; yeah igaf, I’m not even going to bother building with the old core in mind. If it wasn’t obvious I wanted to trade some of them now, I’d be screaming from the heavens for a trade if they draft another forward…

He’s currently in my top 3 of who I think we’ll draft.
– Leonard Miller
– Brice Sensabaugh
– Kobe Bufkin

I think other prospects like Cason Wallace will be out of our reach at 13 if we land there

Ever since Masai missed on Giannis he has been trying to get a Giannis. Bruno, Pascal, Scottie… I would not be surprised at all if they do

It’s a fine gamble for a team with multiple picks. That ain’t our case tho…

Look I get that you guys are caught up in hype, but just watch the guy before believing he’s a gem.
He’s a very weird prospect. He doesn’t really move fluidly, so it’s hard to say if he’s switchable. His BBIQ is not high. His ball skills are good in some areas and way behind in others. He only shot more than 4 3PA in a game once (he shot 1-5). It’s very unrealistic to expect him to be a laser. He is basically exactly like everyone else on our team who is 6’9 and more or less a total project or flat out not good (Barnes, Achiuwa, Koloko, Boucher, etc).
If you don’t believe me, Jordan Walsh, a prospect I absolutely love as a lock down wingstopper defender, managed to shoot the lights out in these drill as well despite being a terrible shooter all year.
I can acknowledge that Miller is intriguing and that if everything hits, he could be a dominant player. However, his average/most likely outcome is probably something like Precious Achiuwa. He’s literally more of the same.

I think he did really badly on his 3 point test that wasn’t the star drill, if I remember correctly from the broadcast.

I remember watching Miller in 2019 in the [FIBA under 16 Americas championship](https://www.fiba.basketball/u16americas/2019/player/Leonard-Miller). His three point shot looked awful. Amazing to see the progress he’s made. A reminder why I’m not a professional basketball scout

We will never be free from these 6’9 shackles
