And 0 people were shocked at this news lol. I’m surprised as hell he made it this long.

  2. HPPresidentz

Hilarious to see all these contenders fire their underwhelming head coach while we stick with JB

    I’m so jealous lol

  3. DaDrFunk

That is one fired coach I do not want to replace JB

  4. WhiteBakerMayfield

Lotta great coaches out there now…great off-season to get a high tier coach. But we are sticking with JB, yikes

  5. JustAKidFromAkron

Is this a new record for coach firings in an offseason?

  6. Ru-tris-bpy

If they wanted to replace JB there are
Some good coaches out there that could replace him. Doc is not one of those coaches

  7. Not that I’d choose Doc but this is a reminder this available coaches pool is loaded right now. Unfortunately looks like we are committed to JB for some reason.

I figured this would happen and while I’m not saying Doc would get us to a championship, he’d be a hell of a lot better than what we have now.

Are the Cavs really gonna let guys like Williams, Bud or whoever just go on without pondering the idea of them coaching here? I hope not as JB is not an X’s and O’s guy and you’re banking on hoping Mitchell stays after the season is over.

  9. No thanks, the book has long been out on Doc.

    My ranking on available coaches:

    * Nurse — won a title, generally considered a good playoff coach
    * Bud — great regular season coach, mixed playoff coach. Won a title but more because Giannis was.. well..Giannis. Has made some blunders.
    * Monty Williams: Another great culture guy. This year wasn’t really his fault, last year’s certainly was though.
    * An empty chair: Proven to not screw anything up
    * Doc: You’re choking in some way in the playoffs but UBUNTU or something like that.

JB and Doc are very similar in that they are locker room coaches and not creative tacticians who make plus adjustments or can design effective offense in 2023.

Wonder what this means about Harden and the Sixers plans for next year. I’d be interested in Reed and McDaniels off that team as potential mid-level guys.

All these coaches who have won or coached in nba finals feel getting fired. Meanwhile we kept a coach who only had like 10 wins against playoff teams this year smh

  13. thedawgpound01

If JB got fired today, would he ever get another job as a head coach in the NBA? Which team would be interested in his services over the other available candidates?

  14. krusty-krab69

Any coach would have won a chip with boston with rondo allen pierce and KG .

Docs been riding that for years!

  15. blurbaronusa

Hell no! we need youth and innovation if we were gonna replace JB and this dude is the opposite of that

  16. swoondog

The people that want to fire JB are also the first people that would complain about the new coach and want to fire them when anything goes wrong.

  17. navajo_moe

From what I’ve heard of Doc he’s basically JB with a ring.

  18. trapezoidB69

See how philly and Milwaukee don’t wait to double check and make sure their coach sucks after he’s lost the team? They fire his ass right off the bat. No reason JB should have a job when bud and doc lost theirs.

  19. cartierjosh

The Nba’s unemployment line just gets longer and longer

  20. math-yoo

Doc Rivers has failed with so many talented players. Maybe he is bad at coaching.

  21. Im_Unlucky

Do we think the cavs are looking at these teams like the sixers and bucks, who are where the cavs expect themselves to be in the upcoming years, and realize they want to have their coach of the future locked up before it’s too late?
