[Frederick] Among coaches of top 4 seeds this season Rivers, Williams and Bud all fired. Have seen Jenkins, Mazzulla, Bickerstaff all heavily criticized. It’s almost like coaching is hard and an imperfect practice

Personally, I think the “fire Finch” crowd also needs to consider just how many star-studded teams are looking for new coaches this summer… It’ll be harder to get the guy you want when suns and 6ers and Bucks have bigger names and more recent success.

With just how many have been fired they would definitely be able to get one of those bigger names, but if they were going to move on from Finch it would have happened already. Finch is the guy next year.

I’m still on board with keeping Finch. Does he have faults, ofc as other coaches. I think Finch is developing as well as the team which people find hard to believe but continuity is key as of right now.

Fire finch and Hire Doc for the Rivers Connection

As much as I complain about Finch when the team has rough games, I think he’s at least an acceptable NBA coach for the time being. If we keep trading players and firing coaches, this team will never have an identity. Might as well let it ride at least another year.

It’s also a good lesson that the players are FAAAAR more important for team success than a coach is.

Let it ride. Players seem to like Finch and play hard for him. That’s 90% of the battle right there. I don’t think ANY coach could have successfully merged Gobert/Towns in year 1. Especially considering they didn’t even play together for the majority of the season.

Coaches are just the easiest P.R. solution for an organization to fixing their teams issues. There is a reason why it’s just a game of musical chairs for the same few coaches. But by in large it always comes down to the players in terms of your teams success, Steve Kerr isn’t who he is if he was hired by the Pistons or hornets.

Get Finch a time out management assistant and we’re good to go.

Why tf would they fire finch. Anyone calling for him to get fired is wrong.

  10. Coaches are by far the hardest thing to evaluate at an NBA level imo, it’s easy for “good” coaches to look bad (Thibs in Minny) and “bad” coaches to look good (Fizdale in Memphis). There are just so many possible reasons as to why a coach succeeds or fails that it is hard to draw a conclusive stance most of the time.

If Pop didn’t go from David Robinson, to Tim Duncan then Kawhi he’d probably have been fired awhile ago too…

If Phil Jackson didn’t have Kobe and MJ his legacy would be different too

Then you have the NBA and media favoring big markets and refs are fixing games… Life’s not fair

Wolves barely got blown out this season, only once in the post-season (with 1 week rest disadvantage). Finch has to do something with blown double-digit leads though, had they done it 10 times (probably average) instead of 20 they would have been 2nd seed. If this does not change next year Wolves have to let Finch go, but he deserves one more year here.

Keep Finch or fire him and hire Mark Jackson or equivalent.. call me crazy but I’d rather not start down the 8 coaches in 7 seasons path with Ant.

Can we try consistency and see how it goes? The only thing that’s been consistent is the inconsistency and we all know that hasn’t worked out. I don’t know if it’ll work out with Finch and/or the two bigs, but I’m all for trying it out to see if can work vs. making a huge change again.

I really hope Finch stays with the team

  16. Wolves need continuity the most. If we aren’t vastly improved in 23-24 barring injury, then it will be time to make changes.
