The DARK SIDE Of NBA Tanking…

The 2023 NBA Draft lottery means that Victor Wembanyama will go to the San Antonio Spurs, while the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets won’t get a chance at Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller… is that fair?

  1. Detroit wasn't even intentionally tanking, they were just BAD and lack major talent and had injuries all through
out the season.. Cade being out didn't help too so the Pistons falling all the way to the 5th spot while having the worst record just shows the league only rewards those who it wants to succeed. This draft was pre – determined even before it started. Its all about business and marketing.

  2. Nobody tanked harder and more obviously this season than the Spurs, whom were rewarded for doing so. 🤮

  3. Charlotte Hornets deserve the first pick in this lottery. They have never won NBA title nor being a conference finalist.

  4. Houston & Detroit have tanked the last 2-3 years and have got in the top #4.
I’m happy they didn’t get anything.

  5. Out of every year they coulda made an example out of tanking teams they choose to do it this year? in the most pivotal draft (atleast in the top 3 )since 2003 is cruel. The Pistons really weren’t trying to tank they were just bad and unlucky especially with Cade hurt for basically the whole season

  6. Rockets didn't have a choice to tank ,our star forced his way out, we had no young players we had no choice but to rebuild. The lottery is bullshit ,its rigged spurs tank deliberately and get the number 1 pick, the Rockets have being screwed 3 years in a row.

  7. Exactly what is the point in losing anyway? This will never guarantee you a number 1 overall selection. Secondly you lose a fan base and in return the team suffers due to ticket sales sputtering out. Dumb af to even consider losing intentionally. The pistons easily had one of the worst records to fetch the number 1 overall selection but how tf do they drop out of the top 3 picks? One guess, ping pong balls are rigged af

  8. I JUST WANNA SAY

    THE HEAT X LAKERS

GOT A TOP 16-18 DRAFT PICK IN THE DRAFT & ONE OF THEM GOING II THE FINALS

    CRAZY ‼️

    RULE NUMBER 1

DONT GIVE PAT RILEY NO DRAFT PICK

    RULE NUMBER 2

DONT LET HIM DRAFT UNDRAFTED PLAYERS 😈

I KNOW IT MAY NOT SEEM LIKE NOTHING RIGHT NOW

BUT KNOWING PAT RILEY X THE LAKERS THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS

CAUSE YOU EITHER DEVELOPING A TOP 10-18 PLAYER ON THE ROSTERS THATS ALREADY SET

    OR YOU COULD

TRADE DOWN OR TRADE UP X GET A PLAYER🤫

OR TRADE THE CURRENT PICK FOR MORE PICKS LATER

    DANGEROUS

BUT THE SURPRISE REAL WINNER OF THE DRAFT

    IS PORTLAND

    THIS INSURES

THE BLAZERS GET A CHANCE II HELP DAME ANYWAY POSSIBLE

    1) TOP 3 TALENT
    2) DAME PROBABLY WONT LEAVE NOW
    3) TRADE THE NUMBER 3 PICK FOR A SUPERSTAR
4 ) IF ALL ELSE FAILS
TRADE DOWN FOR MULTIPLE PICKS SO YOU CAN HELP DAME‼️

  9. Don't know why idiots keep saying the Pistons were tanking. A young team, injured star player and a veteran ball hog is not going to win anything. The lottery is rigged. They need to go back to the pin balls so we can see ourselves. F the behind the close door bull crap

  10. Crazy thing is I don’t think the Pistons were heavily tanking – they just had injuries to key players and poor coaching.

  11. The picks should serve the purpose of consultation for not being able to win , not to be a reward for playing to lose

  12. Im sorry but Detroit & Houston get no sympathy from me in regards to falling in the lottery over teams like Charlotte & San Antonio. Detroit got the #1 overall pick two years ago & #5 pick last year. Houston had the #3 overall pick last year & the #2 overall pick two years ago. San Antonio hasnt picked lower than 9th & outside of LaMelo, Charlotte hasnt picked lower than 11th. Houston & Detroit have already had opportunities to get their franchise player via draft – let San Antonio have theirs

  13. Pistons didn't tankbhiw do you find out your talent if they don't play in pointless games. League wants to stop tanking but fools us with the Rigged lottery every yr. Victor refuse to play anywhere but Spurs and that's where he went. It's documented… Facts

  14. Is it crazy to think that the blazers would trade that pick to Detroit for bogdonovic their fifth pick and maybe one of their plethoras of centers wiseman, bagley, or duren (I doubt duren but you never know)

  15. There are only 2 ways to completely discourage tanking. Either have an unweighted lottery where every team has an equal chance of getting the top pick, or have no draft and let players go to whatever team they want. For the second option, would the top prospects necessarily go to the championship teams? In 1985, the first year of the draft lottery, the clear consensus top prospect was Patrick Ewing. That year the Lakers had just defeated the Celtics in the finals. If there was no draft, does Ewing go to either team? The Lakers might have signed Ewing and then traded away Kareem.

  16. It's crazy to think that the Spurs won against the Mavericks in their last game of the year. Which tied them and the rockets in wins, lost the coin toss so they go from second to third in the lottery and still got the first pick. The Rockets and Spurs were a coin toss away from switching positions.

What I'm trying to say is. If the Mavs don't tank at the end of the year, the Spurs and Rockets switch positions. Shout out to the Mavs from a Spurs fan.

  17. LMAO even if the PISTONS get number 1 pick

    They will still suck

Anyways NBA sold the number 1 pick to the spurs
the Spurs needed a franchise player cause they are a small market team and no youngster wants to play in the spurs

  18. As a rockets fan,
The rockets and pistons were genuinely bad and also (mainly for the pistons) dealt with injuries on top of that it’s not like there was an avenue to win more games….

  19. Yeah, the league wanted the spurs to get the no. 1 pick. Popovich wasn't even hiding the fact that they were tanking, and no one said anything about it.

  20. This kid couldn’t have went to a worse situation in terms of rosters.

Literally ever other team was like 1-2 years away from being playoff contenders.

He went to a team that is still probably 3-4 years away unless they have a wild free agency period

  21. Why not reward the 10th and 11th teams with a higher probability of landing the top 3 pick? The worst teams will hover around top 6 to 10 picks.

  22. Pistons did not intentionally tank. But yeah fuck us I guess for having our star player get injured during a rebuild.

  23. Detroit sucks every year and makes no moves to improve ..did they really think they deserved the #1 pick ?
