BW biggest highlight is the Jak trade. Being able to get a top 6 protected from a mid team for an expiring contract was the masterful move. I had no idea how he managed to pull that off.
This offseason will be another test for him.

Alot of people owe Wright a lot of apologies. I remember this sub absolutely hating Wright early on. The man has been a machine ever since the DeMar trade.

Overall I’m very happy with Wright’s moves. They identified this year as the optimal year to bottom out with a strong draft class (even if they didn’t land Wemby) and shaped their timeline of developing then dealing players (White, Murray, Poeltl, etc) to ensure maximum compensation just in time for this year’s tank.
If they strip it all down earlier; they probably get less compensation for their guys. If they dealed anyone later, they probably win too many games to get best odds in this draft. Really threaded the needle.
Also underrated: gambling on Zach Collins on a super team friendly contract 2 years ago, and he’s definitely outplaying that contract now.

It’s an incomplete for me. Not sure what we were doing with the whole DJ thing, i guess waiting for him to blossum into a superstar. The tank was better late than never and we got lucky with the pick. I’ll be looking to see what moves he makes this year to help out wemby, that’ll be the real test in my opinion.
