The Last 1st Pick for the Spurs… Man, Tim Duncan as a rookie right from the beginning, was just a beast. 21/12/3/3 and won ROTY, 5th in mvp voting, 5th in dpoy voting and was all-nba first team! Just amazing.

Duncan also came out of college as a senior, so he had a few more years development than 19 year-old Wemby. Everybody’s expectations are high, but let’s give him a year or two maybe.

21,12,3,3 in a slow paced era with a ton of HoF bigs

I hope Wembanyama can average a double-double in points and rebounds. Spurs need rebounding help.

Let’s not compare him to Duncan or Robinson. They were a bit older. Duncan graduated college and Robinson did his military stint.
Wemby is 19 and I don’t think he will be playing close to 82 games in his rookie season. Need to take it slow.

When you see that 21ppg, remember that only THREE players had more than 23ppg. Michael Jordan, Shaq, and Karl Malone. Duncan was top 15. As a rookie.

Duncan was 3rd in the NBA in RPG and Robinson was 5th.

Robinson was 5th and Duncan was 6th in blocks per game.

Not comparing TimmyD to Wemby. Just wanted to showcase how great of a rookie season Tim Duncan had. I mean what player since has made All NBA 1st in their rookie year, just ridiculous.

The only stat that really concerns me in there the most is GP

He was All NBA first team in his Rookie season? My goodness me.

The idea of Timmy showing Wemby the ropes is so exciting.

The fact that Timmy never won dpoy makes the award illegitimate
