The Denver Nuggets signed Bruce Brown, traded for Kentavious Caldwell Pope and drafted Christian Braun all in one month. Before that traded for Aaron Gordon, drafted Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter jr. and Jamal Murray. Here is how.
Damn, Bruce Brown's story needs more attention. He's the kinda guy bad teams will dismiss and good teams dream of. It's great to see his hard work is being appreciated and potentially rewarded with a ring this year.
Paul Milsap was a good piece for the Nuggets. They really needed a team captain to give guidance to the younger players like Murray and Jokic. He’s from Denver too so it was a good choice.
This is pretty simple. Let Murray and jokic do their pick and roll thing. Get a rebounder/thumper and a bunch of 3 and D guys. Those two are just too damn good, it's gonna take at least 3 guys to stop them both which just leaves the sharpshooters open
Jokic really needs to incorporate some strength training into his routine. He looks like he hasn't lifted a weight ever. If he lost 15lbs (of blubber), and gained it back in lean muscle!!! BEAST. He already is nearly unstoppable. But that would help his endurance so much. So he's not running up and down the court with his mouth gaping for air, in the first half.

Just like the Bucks in 2021, the Nuggets are ruining the NBA's perfect Finals matchup. And just like Giannis that year, Nikola Jokic was robbed of a 3rd straight MVP and is taking it personally. What else do they have in common, breaking a team led by Kevin Durant in the 2nd Round when the media all but handed KD a deep playoff run.
I guess every team has a version of "what if" stories. But if they held on to Donovan Mitchell, they may have already won 2 titles by now and many more to come. You've got to give the front office a ton of credit for building the team they currently have though. They should win 3 (or more) titles in the next 5 years.
Just to be clear the year we drafted Mitchell it's because we wanted to get OG Annunoby we tried to get cute and trade back but he got picked one pick before we could get him. They didn't need Mitchell cause Gary Harris was balling as a legit two way player. It was alway about getting OG they just blew it.

Signing Bruce Brown and KCP and getting rid of Monte Morris and Will Barton was a perfect move by the Nuggets.
