The San Antonio Spurs could be SURPRISINGLY GOOD Next Season…

The spurs landed the number one pick in this year’s draft and earned the right to draft generational prospect Victor Wembanyama. Many outsiders seem to think this team doesn’t have much around him and could be bad again next season but that’s just not true. The team has a perfect sidekick for Wemby going forward in Jeremy Sochan, as well as two players with 20 point per game ability right now in Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson. Tre Jones is also a super stabilizing presence at point guard, and Malaki Branham was also very good as a rookie. Oh yeah, then they have $40M in cap space this summer and are suddenly a free agent destination. And on top of all that, they have arguably the greatest coach of all-time in Gregg Popovich. This team has a chance to vastly overachieve next season.

Think about subbing, I’m on the road to 8k!!!

  1. As a spurs fan, I don’t think we will be good right away, but we do have an underrated young core. Great video!

  2. Spurs will play this slow let victor develop to a more nba ready body and spurs may still play their odds on the next years draft while developing the young talent see what they have by then.

  3. I think Collins gets the start with Tre Jones off the bench. Put Wemby at the 3 or 4, suits his style of play better.

  4. One more piece at the point guard spot and we will get titles for years to come back to back to back. Win now mode would incorporate a bold trade. But what do I know here, I'm a football minded guy. Always been a spurs fan day 1. Awesome to see the franchise get revitalized hopefully they add one more piece to fill that need.

  5. I think we don’t need to sign anyone till 2025. 2024 trade class is a pass. Sit on this talent and fill out Wemby’s game while he assumes #1 option. Let other guys grow their game and drive their individual trade values as high as possible. Then see what you got. That upgraded talent along with their future picks will get them an all star (not a superstar, this is wembys team) in 2025 and or 2026. Then we are competing for chips for the next 15-17 years with wemby as our centerpiece!

  6. I think they should get one guy I heard Reeves going there I wouldnt get to ahead of yourself. Just hope he is healthy

  7. 23-24 Play in, KO
24-25 Play in, Round 1, KO
    25-26 Round 1, Round 2, KO
    26-27 Round 2 game 7, KO
    27-28 WCF, KO
    GO! SPURS! GO!

  8. Someone made the point, can't remember who, that Wemby actually has everything that LeBron never had coming in as the #1 draft prospect. Wemby has the shooting, defense, and not to mention being able to do this with his size. Looking at it that way, it makes sense why one would say that he's the greatest draft prospect ever.

That being said, I think Spurs will make the playoffs and lose a tough second round contender. But that will be the start just as the Warriors made that leap in 2013 and lost to the Spurs in the 2nd round.

  9. These guys are ready right now. Victor need to work on his strengthening training. He has to get strong for the big men in this lead. Watch out, they are going to do special, things

  10. Jakob is a free agent this offseason, he's familiar with Spurs play, and a great rim protector

  11. without hearing a second of your vid I agree – did you SEE the last regular season game? The Spurs were capable on the daily homie!

  12. Pop looooooves Tre Jones. We had Avery Johnson, an Vaughn.. We're keeping Jones.

  13. Does "King James" not flop? Did he not shamelessly flop last game? Where's the lie? I think Jeremy Sochan is entitled to his "correct" observation/opinion

  14. Hell no for cp3. He would already be retired by the time wemby develops. Also Steven Adam's over brook Lopez, wemby needs someone who bangs hard down low and a brick wall on screens . I doubt Lakers would let go of reeves. They need more stand and pop guys who are steady three pointers who is still young like buddy hield.

  15. Draft lotteries are genius. The Pistons have been in 17 lotteries and improved their position exactly ONCE {Cade). They did not tank this year, but with Cade out for the season they only won 17 games. Their "reward" – fifth pick. Let the play on the court determine draft status, not ping pong balls. If you can prove guys are tanking, fine or suspend them, but don't assume everybody is trying to lose. By the way, the Red Wings have also taken a beating in draft lotteries. The Lions and Tigers don't have to face an artificial game of chance. They pick where they finished.

  16. Awesome video. Subscribed. Brook lopez is interesting and that lineup possibility is nightmarish for the opps

  17. To be honest, they competed really well in several games last year, putting up a lot of numbers. I’m not saying they can go win a championship next year but the playoffs is definitely achievable.

  18. Probably the best assessment of my Spurs I seen. Completely agree. I've been screaming about Brook Lopez too. Exactly what they need. Cam Johnson also could work.

  19. Hopefully for the Spurs sake they are bad but competitive this year. Then next year they can get another high pick and consolidate their assets

  20. I’m happy to see some excitement around my spurs again. It’s been hard since Kawhi felt. I’ve cried many nights. Looking forward to seeing the new area. Pop will be gone and a new identity will emerge.

  21. Very good indepth analysis. Next time include all of our picks in the upcoming drafts. We have 13 first round picks and 14 second round picks in the next 7 years. Lots of trade capital 🎉

  22. Spurs always built their dynasties through the draft. Tony Parker 29th pick and Manu Ginobili 57th pick. Spurs should not eat up all their cap space…with FA's. Spurs have a great front office…

  23. We should also target Zach Edey in the second round, he might be perfect next to Vic.

  24. The rebuild wouldve been done already if Primo didnt show off his primo
