Lowe on his podcast speculated that the Lakers would renounce Jared Vanderbilt and DLo to get cap room to sign Kyrie. If they do that Vando would be a great pickup for the wolves.
A. As another hustle and defensive player
B. But mostly since he’s friends with Ant

We could also resign D’Lo!! I’d be comfortable putting him on a vet’s minimum contract to back-up Conley.
I really doubt we could get Vando back.
TC has traded him twice now, imagine a boss transferring you across the country, you uproot your life and do it. Once you are settling in that same boss moves to your new branch and transfers you across the country again. You are gonna probably be pretty upset and decide to never work for that guy again.
We need two way players and Tim Connelly has already traded his ass twice.
So, not happening.
As much as I like Vando, I’d rather just give his minutes to Minott.
Absolutely. Reasons I would do this:
1. The Timberwolves as a franchise NEEDs guys like Vando. Effort and heart has always been an issue with us.
2. Retaining Ant past his second deal. Still having Jaden, Naz, and Vando would go a long way. Eventually Ant will have the option to go to a bigger market or somewhere with better weather, but other teams won’t be able to compete with the relationships the Wolves have established.
3. Based on salary outlook, there’s a chance Gobert won’t be here for long. Worrying about having two non-shooters could no longer be an issue within the next 6 months.
Vando is struggling mightly in playoffs
There is absolutely zero chance they cut Vando. If they do it they will get enough space to almost max Kyrie, but they will lose bird rights to Hachimura and Reaves. It is not happening. Speculating about this it’s like speculating about all of us flying to the Moon tomorrow.
Edit: Even if they do want to send him away, they would rather trade him to another team with trade exception for a couple of 2nds.
Teams with big enough trade exceptions: Denver, Brooklyn, Blazers, Utah, Atlanta, Washington, Phoenix, Miami. All of them will gladly give them a couple of 2nds for Vando on a bargain deal.
If the Wolves re-sign Naz then there is no place for Vando on this team until they resolve the glut at center which I don’t imagine happening this off-season.
Would I trade minimal assets for Vando? Yes.
Would I sign him if the Lakers have to cut him to make space, making him an UFA? Not a chance (because he’d probably get pretty good money and the Wolves can’t afford to pay good money to a non-shooter).
Would vando want to even come back he didn’t seem stoked about being traded.
Unless he really works on his 3PT shot, I don’t think we can play him in any lineups with Rudy.
I agree but we have to work on resign vs re-sign.
I don’t see the Lakers releasing him. Pretty sure they can get a second or two just trading him into a trade exception. With Rudy on this team I don’t see us getting Vando. If we traded Rudy and went back to KAT/Naz as our Cs I could see Vando being great next to Naz off the bench with Anderson starting next to KAT. Problem is we likely wouldn’t get the value we’d want if we traded Rudy. If the Mavs were willing to part with the 10th pick, maybe that’s a route we could go. Something like THJ, Bertans and the Cason Wallace( 10th pick ) for Rudy could be interesting.
Vando would be great with Gobert, 3v5 on offense is the new way!
