These guys are SO wrong. Bunch of backhanded compliments. Nobody wants to watch Jokic? Plays too fundamental to be exciting? Jokic is something that we have never seen before, ever. He is revolutionary in the same way Jordan and Curry were/are with their playstyles. That's the definition of unique and exciting.

Giannis didn’t get promoted really either after his 2 MVPs, until he won the chip. Jokic plays in a small market and has a stoic personality, whereas Giannis is funny and jovial. Even Kareem is stoic, but Kareem did a few movies and played for the Lakers most of his career.
Kawhi wasn’t really marketed at his peak, for similar reasons. Small market team, stoic personality. San Antonio had to build a dynasty, before the attention came. Tim Duncan had the ground work laid by David Robinson, so he didn’t have to build the franchise from scratch, they just needed to win the chip. Trust me, if Tim Duncan has to rebuild the Spurs from the bottom, like Wenbenyama is being asked to do next season, he would have has similar issues.

These are horrible takes on both parts. The NBA is now global and the top 5 players are all l international national. It’s an injustice to these great players who are doing historic things. People like Perkins said he is stat padding with fake take to make Embid mvp. Jokic fundamentals are off the charts.

I’m not sure any of the international players really have that flash other than Giannis and Luka…both of which I’d tune in to watch over Jokic, as great as he is. Duncan was a good comparison.
I can't believe these guys don't act like they don't understand what Michael Malone is saying. I kid you not in all four games the Nuggets would get a few seconds of talk then everything else in each segment was Lakers. And this thing about well its because no watches the Nuggets is bull crap. I remember when the Raptors made the finals it was more about the Raptors than it was about Philly in the Media. Let's call it what it is. These media people don't like Jokic and are salty. They gave Embiid more respect than Jokic when Jokic has had more success with less talent. For the most part these Youtube channels do a way better job of discussing basketball, teams, and players.

JJ's point without saying is actually about bringing back more Objectivity in sports journalism. Im mid 30s, sports personalities and journalist would have the relationships but reported even, as to now you know every major journalist's favorite player, team, exec, coworker, who they have personal relationships, they no longer hide their bias or personal feelings. calling for player's jobs, personal worth's based on how they performed

No bro, NBA is a globally followed sport. Don't underestimate that the fans don't know basketball, don't try to create "DRAMA" just give the players respect they deserve. If you don't promote the teams that play good and support them you might just have Lakers, Celtics and Warriors compete. Saying Joker doesn't resonate with anyone ,a chubby kid from nowhere , 41st pick, became an NBA 2 time MVP is essentially an American Dream, and you have a nation of overweight kids who don't like sports who don't know what to do with their life. I get what JJ is talking about but he is right and wrong. He's right sports media don't talk about other nba superstars as much as lbj, steph, and kd. They don't talk about other teams besides Lakers, Knicks, warriors. Where he's wrong is he's talking about wrong shows. It's not ESPN @ 10pm or 7 am job to discuss bout jokic or giannis. They have to cover all the other sports happening. It's not even these over saturated ridiculous amount of debate shows job either cuz they want ratings. It's the actual nba shows such as nba tv, nba on espn w/rj, Perkins, & nba journalists, nba on tnt, and etc. It's their job to inform fans about how great Denver and jokic are.
