  1. Raptors could be that team looking to retool. They package Siakam for the 3rd pick(if Scoot is still there) and let FVV walk in favor of Scoot

  2. I think Ryen is way too high on Scoot. The playoffs have shown us that a high volume shooting guards don't really work unless they are ridiculously efficient. Guys like Curry, Booker and Murray can work because they not only make very tough shots, they make it at elite efficiency. Guys like Herro, Poole, LaVert, etc. and even a player like Mitchell as the playoffs as that Knicks series dragged on, just don't bring enough to the table if they aren't finishing at an elite rate. Scoot might be awesome on a Tuesday night in March in Utah, but in the playoffs, I don't think that kind of player is a winning player in the NBA. You can't just be a scorer anymore, you need to bring way more to the table, and I'm not sure Scoot can do that at 6'2" despite being huge. For a reference, his eFG% from the G-League would have been 2nd worst in the NBA this year, only better than Killian Hayes.

  3. Hornets should draft Scoot and trade Ball. LaMelo isn’t a winning player. He’s way too nonchalant and doesn’t have any dog in him like scoot does. Plus hornets could get a good trade package for Ball cause he’s not completely exposed yet.

  4. New Owner in Charlotte coming off a Miles Bridges dark cloud, to then take Brandon Miller with no veteran infrastructure and all that is sketch af hahaha

  5. Scoot is a franchise player and will change the organization he's similar to Ja Morant, and De'aaron Fox elite guards that are quick, explosive and can score at will and are playmakers, he's a All NBA talent 💯

  6. I just love how ryen russillo a guy who didn’t even get a 600 on his math portion has become an avatar of 101 IQs who think they are 120s because they do stem adjacent shit and verbal doesn’t matter. So many of those guys working for me wondering why I’m clearing EOY bonuses 3X bigger than their entire comp packages.

  7. Brandon Miller should be a great teammate. If you like to shoot, he'll be there to assist you.

  8. I don’t know shit about fucc.
That being said, Scoot is exciting to watch play basketball.

  9. Thank you Ryen, for being one of the few sports reporters that uses their analytical brain as the primary narrative driver when discussing this sport. I listen to all basketball games on mute until its close in the 4th with someone like Breen is announcing. You tell provocative stories about the present and that is gift to all your listeners.

  10. Siakam for 3rd pick. Deal could include anfernee, 13th overall pick, or any other type of kickers to make it work.

Raptors need a young guard to pair with og and Barnes. And siakam and dame have very complementary skill sets. Plus siakam has already proven he can be the second option on a championship team

  11. If scoot falls to 3, the Raptors need to pick up the phone and make something work. They are most likely losing Fred VanVleet, who isn’t coming off his most productive year anyway. A trade that involves OG anunoby and Portland’s third pick (whatever that package looks like but this would be the main framework) would benefit both sides. Portland gets a high impact win-now player and Raptors get a pg of the future and let their other plethora of 6’9 and above players play their more natural positions.

  12. I forget is Pop 84 or 85? I wonder if he struggles connecting with players now that he is so old. What's their succession plan look like?

  13. The Simons and Lillard backcourt is ok. The problem with that is previous to A. Simons they had a better backcourt partner for him that they traded in C.J. McCollum.

  14. Random takeaways…
    – If LaMelo can thrive next to Rozier then he can thrive next to Scoot, and Scoot will develop under less pressure next to Lamelo
    – If Portland can pick scoot you trade Simons this offseason unless you can get a mega deal for Dame (doubtful)
    – Portland should trade Simons and Sharpe for Rozier and the 3rd pick, draft Scoot and Brandon Miller and start em next to Dame/Grant/Nurk with Rozier off the bench

  15. Khris Middleton is super old and has been hurt too much for the Blazers to want any piece of him. Were gonna need a Jaylen Brown, Pascal Siakam type of guy in a trade.

  16. in the Wemby game, the thing about Scoot that stood out the most to me wasnt his athleticism, shot making or confidence (all amazing of course). it was that, on offense, he seemed to make the correct play on every single possession. his ignite teammates (as one might expect) failed to convert a whole bunch of beautiful setups

  17. He’s shooting 25% from 3 stop telling me about his 3 point shooting. He’s actually a very poor shooter with a nice looking jumper which is the biggest problem… there’s nothing to fix it already looks great and he’s shooting 25% with the closer FIBA 3 and worse defenders.
