Meanwhile, the Knicks might see their playoff exit as a reason to add offensive firepower. DeRozan is the player right now whom they hope Barrett will one day become. Do this deal, and New York would have one of the league’s top scoring trios with DeRozan, Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle.”

    DeRozen is a win now player for a team that won’t win in 2024.
    What’s the point? Move Julius (and others) and make this Jalen’s team. Surround Brunson with defensive killers who can shoot and do whatever you can to make that happen. So trade the young guys, draft picks and half the vets (Randle, Fournier, Robinson). To take the next step you need long defensive-minded vets who can
    Cover up for Brunson’s size and lack of quickness. With all the picks and dead weight (Toppin and Quickley) you might be able to take the next step and be a great defensive team. Someone will take these five losers and kick back something truly of value. Just look at the teams left. They are playing great defense(well Denver and Chicago anyway) and are making shots. Brunson isn’t Jimmy or Jokic but he will work with a team that’s built AROUND HIM, not spare parts who won’t see the floor in the playoffs. Or rather won’t play well in the playoffs lol……
