You guys got a steal in Nurse. I'm a Raptors/Spurs fan. I follow the Raps for 5 years. The team that won the chip was probably one of the weakest talent team to ever win. Kawhi was coming off an injury where he missed almost all of the previous season. Siakam was a 7pt game scorer the previous year and Kyle Lowry. We had vets D. Green Gasol, and Ibaka who are out of the league now or Danny on the way out. Young players like Powell and OG and Coach Nurse took the team to the title. Following year coach of the year and 2nd best record in the league. Last year low expectations and a 5th seed and 48 wins. The Lakers wanted him last year and Masai said they can keep dreaming. Coach had problems with Siakam a couple of years ago and one of the incidents was quite ugly. Think he didn't get along too well with Barnes also. So Masai let him go which I think was a mistake. He's a solid coach and with your talent you'll be in immediate contention for the chip. I think he dropped out of Milwaukee job to let his assistant have it. Seems to want to coach you guys specifically.
I think we got Nick Nurse a year too late. I wish we had him before we lost Isiah Joe for nothing. I am potentially happy for J. Springer. All the young players that could have developed. I am happy for the future young players Philly grabs because of Nick Nurse.

Fred is a pylon. Virtually every starting guard in the league blows past him. His shooting makes you pull your hair out. Completely inconsistent. The only reason he had fairly good stats was because Nurse played him more than 40 minutes every game.
Fred gives new meaning to pounding the leather off the ball then forcing a bad heave ho at the end of the shot clock.

– all 3 are good shooters which is crucial
– 2 players that are former Toronto Raptor players coincidently
1. Fred VanVleet – if sixers want Maxey to be the shooting guard
– VanVleet still has player option w/Raptors
2. Gary Trent Jr.- if sixers want Maxey to be the point guard
– Trent still has player option w/Raptors
3. Buddy Hield- from Tobias trade & then Maxey would be the POINT GUARD
Nurse was with the Raptors for 10 yrs and it was time for him to move on.
Biggest complaint by fans and Masai was Nurse not using his young players over the last 2 yrs. He shouldn't have that issue in Philly

FVV is Nurse's favorite player. Sounds like a good option to trade Fred to Sixers.
Your gonna need Kyle Lowry, not Fred Vanvleet to draw the best out of Nick Nurse. He carried Nurse to COTY, and constantly challenged him whenever he coached poorly. Embiid can be that guy but him and Nurse already have history…
I've said it in the past, we need another playmaker/ballhandler, if Harden were to leave we're left without playmakers. Nick, would be great off the bench backing up Maxey or Harden.
I wouldn't mind having JJ coming back as an assistant, rumour is he's interested in a coaching job.

Nick Nurse wasn't liked in the lockeroom, in fact I'm sure some hated him. (Siakam & him few seasons ago had problems which was though to have been resolved).
This season it was just a toxic environment.
No player wished him luck including FVV when he got fired.
FVV was Nick Nurse most trusted player he relied on, who he never use to criticise him when he often played bad, had poor shot selection & had selfish play.
Raptors players were sick of FVV selfish play, shot chucking but Nurse never called him out or sat him when he was playing horrible basketball.
Just let him do whatever he wanted.
FVV is a great speaker, very media savvy, friends with reporters & both local & national media.
He's good at painting his own narrative. He painted the narrative all year that his numbers were effected because of a role change, when in fact it's the same role, same usage rate, similar shot attempts.
FVV just shot poorly.
FVV is just the sort of person to tweet something about Nick Nurse when nobody else did.
Everybody else aren't fake & clearly didn't like him so didn't comment.
FVV did it as its great PR move, he was closer then anyone to Nurse, but even he didn't back Nurse.
This past season was a total disaster & FVV & Nurse were huge part of that.
Nurse a very good coach but not a great person.
He's done 1 too many questionable things, whether it's discipling an assistant coach by telling him not to join up with the team without notifying front office, calling out role players for bad games in public with no private convos.
Also bringing in Nat Bjorkren back who got fired from Indiana after poor behaviour within that lockeroom.
Nurse use to take digs at players in media when they played bad, use to not give any minutes to bench guys.
Overplay starters and not let the role players get good enough minutes, then criticised them when team loses.
Told media when asked after Raptors lost to Celtics what the difference was and he said they have Tatum & Brown, a dig at his own players.
Nurse had an ego problem which naturally came from his success.
He's a smart coach whose great at making adjustments, great defensively.
But the human aspect of managing a lockeroom he did very poorly.
Nurse lost the dressing room completely when in the crucial final playoff push he openly told the media that he will reconsider his future after losing v 76ers.
Team was finally playing well and he made those selfish comments which ultimately got him fired.
Raptors lost in the play-in, in a close game that came down to missed FT's.
What they should do is arrange a trade with the Hawks for bogdonovic and D hunter for Tobi,Niang|or Shake and picks for the hawks players imo…
