The neat part about handshake deals is that unless both parties involved come out and say for sure, who knows if they actually exist or not.

    Actual quote

“I’ve heard there’s no truth to any reports that Irving has a handshake deal with Dallas on a new max contract for four years with a player option at this time. Not to say he won’t be back in Dallas. They certainly have all the motivation to keep him after trading for him and the financial resources to make him the best offer possible, but nothing’s done as of yet.”

I can’t keep up with these “professional” sports journalists, is NBA Central/Mike Scotto legit?

This feels like a shit show in the making. I hope that this causes Mark to stop trying to outsmart everyone and just get a real GM to manage the FO.

    Can’t say I’m surprised.

Mavs and perceived agreements. Name a better duo

Wtf is this guy and why would anyone tell him if there was an agreement?

    Media: Kyrie to LA

Media: turns out Kyrie to LA won’t happen, wonder how that rumor started

Media: kyrie will sign with Mavs, 4yrs max

Media: actually there’s no agreement, wonder how that rumor started

The media makes up plot lines and stories that aren’t true so they can later debunk the same story they created.

Until June 30th, who gives a damn. Especially after the Deandre jordan shit.

Handshake agreements mean shit, as Kidd and Cuban know.

would be a mavs classic if kyrie just leaves and we wasted dfs and 1st round pick on him

I love how he specifically says “for four years with a player option”

Like he doesn’t just said he doesn’t have an agreement to re sign, he says specifically “for four years with a player option”

This seems to be a bit of media bullshit to me, basically this statement could be factually true even if Kyrie DOES have a handshake deal with Cuban to re-sign without specifics involved because of his wording

I feel like this is just a report to keep the Mavs from getting fined in all honesty.

  13. shibbyman342

In other news, that’s actually news, free agency starts in a month!

  14. trapHerm

What happens is out of our control , no need to live and die on every report

  15. Fickle-Goal-9760

Lol I hate the off-season. No one knows shit.

  16. this_place_stinks

All that aside a handshake agreement with Kyrie Irving is worthless anyways

  17. Why would anyone make a handshake deal with Kyrie in the first place? Dude can ball but everyone knows he’s not someone you can make plans around.

Whatever is going to happen will happen, spending any time as a fan speculating on Kyrie is going to be futile.

(I hope he comes back because all other options are bad.)
