There isn’t any salary cap to hire coaches, it’s what ever the billionaire owner wants to pay. Tom wanted Monty, and gave him a Godfather offer. So did they overpay for Monty, No, because it doesn’t affect the Pistons salary cap to get better players. Now it’s time for these owners to pay their coaches more money.

Wow this guy is hilarious forced out to a cushy executive position. Man this isnt going to age well. Detroit has 3 young studs in Ivey, Duren, and Cade, 5th pick, and about 40M in CAP space. He'll look like a real fool when Detroit improves but maybe he's used to that. Trash dudes who know zero about the NBA.

The Suns won like 16-games the year before they got this coach.
The following year, they won twice as many games, and the next year ended up in the playoffs, all while having an under producing soft ass Center
It's going to take 2-3 years just to change the culture. Then build the roster that INCLUDES a superstar, and a couple of guys who are star quality.

If you want to win and you don’t have superstars, you need vision and organizational stability. Give your coach and GM the time they need to build a culture, find their guys, and maybe attract one real star- and then you can win.
Bad organizations hire a coach for two years- fire them b/c of pressure from the fans, hire another etc. and never build anything.
