yeah I have a very bad feeling that our coaching staff will suck again next year.

Ah shucks. And Bill Simmons was talking such a big game that their assistant Kevin Young (I think that’s his name) was going to get the job

Doc just come be an assistant here and bring along Paul Pierce, Rondo, and KG

What the fuck is Brad doing?

Edit: obviously he’s going to take a head coaching job over an assistant. The issue is keeping Joe when so many better options were available especially if they aren’t actually going to get a good assistant

I really wanted Vogel in our staff, man. We still have Silas as a possibility, but I can’t think of any other notable assistants. Brad and Joe are gonna have to do some extensive searching ASAP.

Well there goes my pain again 🙁

  6. Well there goes the little excitement left I had for next year.

Oh come the fuck on man. Fuck it Stephen silas and Sam Cassell. Shit ill even take Doc.

Hopefully we get Silas and Joe gets to choose some good assistants of HIS choosing.

All the people who thought an experienced NBA Head Coach would agree to be an assistant to a bad coach entering his 2nd year 🤡

Celtics need to go pay Kenny Atkinson whatever it takes to leave GS.

  11. May mean that Kevin Young is available then 🤔

I never thought Vogel would be a good assistant for Mazzulla, for the simple reason that he’s too accomplished. Rule of thumb for assistants should be that you should not hire someone who could plausibly be their boss’s replacement as soon as they walk in the door. Vogel is a title-winning coach who only left the Lakers because of what seems like fit issues. If he had been Mazzulla’s top assistant, you’d get talk of him being groomed as a replacement if Joe slips up from day one.

The ideal former head-coach-turned-assistant is someone who is good at Xs and Os, but failed sufficiently in their last opportunity that they are not going to get another head job in the league without substantially rebuilding their reputation. Someone like Silas fits the bill, and there are probably a bunch of other candidates out there that we haven’t even thought about yet. Vogel wasn’t it.

Tf…I thought Kevin Young was gonna be the coach

Mike D’Antoni still wanna coach or nah?

Guess I’d rather want that job if I were him.

I knew Vogel as an assistant for us made no sense. Of course he would get a head coach job somewhere.

Now we get to hear about how Silas actually wasn’t a total disaster in Houston and how he will help lead this team back to the finals all summer
