Michael Porter Jr. on reaching the NBA Finals after multiple back surgeries: “Yeah, there’s definitely times where it gets very worrisome… At this point, I just put in the work, I try to take care of my body as well as I can, and I just leave the rest up to God.”

    >just leave the rest up to God.

    Don’t use Jonathan Isaac’s god.

MPJ turning into a good defender should scare the shit out of the rest of the league.

They have the best player/big man in the league, one of the best shooting/scoring combo guards in the league, and a top 5 shooter in the league that is an oversized stretch 3/4 who can stay on the floor with his defense and block shots, and he doesn’t even seem close to reaching his potential on both ends of the floor. Throw in the perfect PF next to jokic in AG, and an elite 3&D in KCP.

They literally all fit perfectly together and have so much talent.

Seems like so many NBA players are religious. Or is this just a US thing? (Coming from someone from a not very religious country)

Oh yeah not to mention teams of personal trainers, physical therapists, nutritionists and doctors

Imagine if Ben Simmons had that attitude.

I hope he holds up physically. I remember when he was drafted and the Clippers passed on him there were those reports that he had the worst physicals they had seen. I don’t know if those doctors were just bad at their jobs or what but MPJ has looked awesome this year and has been great in the playoffs. Even if he can just stay healthy for a couple of championship runs that contract was well worth it.

He really played well yesterday. On defensive end too.

I love this guy so much! Kudos to him for putting in the work to get where he’s now. I just hope we start using him more than as a spot up shooter. He’s gonna be even better next year.

Him feeling good and confident has been such a difference. The defense is obviously better, but driving the basket, getting huge dunks—that wasn’t him. And I have to think it’s a product of him feeling more confident with his body.

I give it up to god, and he always reply…

He’s great and I’m so happy for him but he’s gotta stop settling for those 3 pointers he’s so much more capable of making plays

MPJ had to be NERFED with back surgeries just so he could play in the NBA finals, I wish him the best

Ngl I honestly did not think one could be an NBA starter with so many back surgeries at his age. Props to him for finding a way, I’m still nervous playing 3 years after ACL surgery.
