This is like when kyler Murray and Patrick mahomes signed huge contracts. It is a different sport and the NFL makes more money but when one person gets a lot of money the other people think their better and deserve more.

So the GOAT owner (but goat talent evaluator) in Charlotte dumped Caleb Martin like so much trash? We all know that Mike is a terrible at high draft picks, picking the likes of Adam Morrison and Raymond Felton like tool's gold in the top 5, but I guess they also don't see diamonds in the rough. But I guess that's the case with a lot of NBA franchises…even when they found an undrafted player who turned out to be good, they often left them go (e.g., the Lakers with Alex Caruso) because they don't want to pay them a normal contract.

We must understand: Monty is a 2x Coach of the Year award winner. He has years of coaching experience. His past teams have shown progress with the Pelicans reaching the playoffs and the Suns reaching the NBA Finals. The contract is deserving.
if you don't win (or win multiple) scripted championship in 3 years maybe 4 years if lucky then you are gone. Pray you don't finish 1st in conference because if you lose in playoffs you are gone. places 3ish,4,5,6 are the most safe and has less pressure. 1 and 2 you better win.

The problem with Hero coming back is whose minutes do you take away? He’s not taking Vincent minutes. Kyle Lowry has high and low offensively but is a leader and great defender on court. Caleb mArtin is great two way player. Maybe Max minutes or Kevin Love but you need his size. And Herro doesn’t give you much besides scoring.

Monty's contract is the equivalent of a "no trade clause" in a player contract. The length of time and amount per year makes it impossible for Detroit to fire him before the end of the contract.
