It looks good on paper. Our issue was making 3s and having defensive lapses. Here comes KP who shoots 3s and blocks shots. But, in reality, KP had his FIRST good year since his 2nd year in the league. Before, he was injured or recovering from injuries and playing poor defense. What are the chances KP just becomes magically healthy going forward? A likely scenario is that he will give you good stretches and get injured and will recover slowly missing 20-30 games per season. Kind of like a poor-man's version of AD. And, he will likely demand a deal close to one Randle has…. Not saying I love Randle, but at least he is mostly healthy. I'd sign him ONLY on a short-term deal and with some protections if he gets injured. But, I bet some team will give him a long-term deal with no major caveats.. so pass
I think KP is kind like Jarren Jackson Jr. Maybe, he is a notch below him on defense but overall, it's the same profile – he stretches the floor and protects the rim, which is super-rare but he isn't a dominant rebounder, or a great passer or can really bang inside.
